You guys played a great game. Kudos to your team and your great fans.

You are right about Big XII officiating. John Bible is the worst.

All I have to say is, "the rules are fair! the regulations are fair!"

The officials are not our problem. Our problem is that we can't punch it in the end zone yet.

    Re: Poor Officiating?!?!

I think that the unconverted 4th and 1 was worse than any officiating call. Sure there were things that you could question, but it always seems to be that way espcially when something was almost in your graps of an upset. You kicker can't kick a field goal, so you put your trust in your offense. They can't convert, so who can you rely on. No one! That plays was a big realization for that game. In the first quarter we were 3 for 4 on 3rd downs. As the game went on, we got up to 4 for 12. We suck on 3rd downs, couldn't covert 4th, and sucked in the red zone. The officiating had nothing to do with this lost, but was horrible as well to say the least.

Yeah you guys have had your run-ins with officials yourself haven't you?

When I was in Norman last year the people tailgating next to us had some signs...

"Upon further review, the Refs still suck"

    That sums it up,

Our guys failed to capitalize opportunities more often than the officials took opportunities away.

The officiating was bad - however I've seen far worse out of Big XII officials. In any case, the refs didn't come close to costing us the game.

I thought that the officiating for the game sucked big time. Our offensive line was beating the Okie line all day and when we beat them, they held the crap out of us. They didn't get a holding call at all once because of it. There was the interception in the endzone at the end of the game that I thought should of been a safety. I agree with Wesley, its preety bad when you get better officiating at Lincoln.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Bible officiate the Nebraska game last year? Watching that game you just seemed to get the feeling that he was biased against us given the questionable calls - Blythe offensive pass interference, Austin Flynn's touchdown ruled out of bounds, etc.

In any event, it was still a great effort - too bad Meyer threw the pick or else it could have been a different story.

There was one mistake that sticks out in my mind, where an OU receiver caught the ball at the 1st down line, and ran backwards and went out of bounds 1-2 yards behind the 1st down line. This was on third down, and would have put OU off the field and kept the game at 7-7 if I remember right. It took the crowd completely out of the game.
I went back and checked the play-by-play because we actually were ahead 7-0 at that time. OU had a 3rd and 10 from their own 23. If it had been spotted where he actually went out it would have been about the 32 and maybe a little shy of that. You are correct that the call demoralized the crowd and the team. It was Deja Vu. ISU getting screwed by the refs again when they have a shot at winning against a ranked team. OU ended up rattling off several big plays right in a row and that put them in a position to score the TD. Otherwise they punt from their own 32. I thought the game turned at that point.

One other thing pointed out by some OU fans. They said that our PA announcers need to really improve. They said that the crowd was rocking and the PA announcers don't do things to keep them going. And in fact, do DUMB things to kill the Crowd noise and momentum. Any thoughts? Although I thought they did better at the OU game than they had done all year. Made me realize how pathetic our PA announcers really are.

The Band and Alumni Band did great by the way. Awesome show.

I'd tend to agree with that. The only problem is, we have (or at least had) a lot of dumb fans who don't really know when to cheer. I had some people behind me asking me if I was worried about losing my voice cheering because I was yelling so loud. All I could think was that I'm far more worried about NOT losing my voice, because that means I haven't given my team enough. It's fans like that that need the encouragement.

I'd like to see fewer dumb graphics on the big screen, and more replays. I don't mind the "first down" thing, just because someone needs to coordinate the "first down" deal. I don't need him pointing out 3rd downs.

As far as the officiating goes, yeah it was rough, but it always is. Just gotta play through it. ISU isn't going to get a whole lot of calls. It will occasionally get screwed beyond the usual gentle, subtle screwing that we are used to. Suck it up. It's part of being a cyclone fan.

The only way we pull a huge upset is to completely dominate and take the decision out of the ref's hands!

Also, I hope OU doesn't make it to the BCS Championship game because all they will do is embarass the Big XII.

    The paycheck is no embarassment.
Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.
