Ok, around the office lately we have been missing things. The count so far is:
1 Frozen Burrito from the freezer (mine..... )
2 Frozen Pizzas frome the freezer
1 Laptop from under my bosses desk
2 Dollars from the drawer at the reception desk
1 Pretzel
So lastnight I set up a motion activated webcam to see if I could test-snare a thief. I left a bag of five pretzels on my desk. Now, I know pretzels arent a big deal, but I was just curious as to how low a person would go. I can't blame them for the other stuff missing. Could be anybody, so I'm just telling you that this was done pretty much out of entertainment for me and my cube buddies.
Anyone else ever busted a thief? Does stuff dissapear from your office from time to time?

That's just really really sad. A pretzel? Come on!
At my previous job, we had a few people come in and update something on our computers. The next morning a half a dozen people found stuff missing. I lost a good pen and pencil, another guy lost about $5 in loose change and the spare keys to 3 of his vehicles. Nothing as big as a laptop though.

We have been laughing for the past hour about it. I will never leave food out again. Who knows where her/his hands have been. Blech.

No, it isnt worth the trouble for a pretzel. I wouldnt want to hurt someones job over a pretzel. However, we are thinking of putting out some change or cash. Or moving this camera around the facility here. My burrito was the first to go reportedly missing. I really wanted to eat that too =) My boss's laptop is a huge deal though. He hadnt taken his stuff off it yet to transfer to his new laptop.

We have food taken all of the time. Always thought it was the cleaning people.
We have 2 phone lines at work. One recorded, one not recorded. My boss came in one morning looking for a call that he took the day before. He found multiple calls made the night before. He listened to them, they were all in spanish.

Swingline is the best. You should invest in a red one. However, I do suggest locking it up at night. My husband locked his in his desk drawer for nearly a year, and one night got tired of it. Bye bye red stapler.

Good question. I would probably felt violated after realizing I just used this and that around my office. I would have promptly driven home and showered while crying in the corner if the tub.
