Uh, Mutombo won't be playing corner next week, as he is leading a basketball camp at my kids' international school here in South Africa!

I think he was. When interviewed tonight they mentioned he was a RS JR and the programs say he was redshirted as well.

With this complaining about Blythe not getting the ball enough...

Look...I agree. However...we won the damn game tonight. An OT game no less...something we failed to do last year. At least take...oh...a few hours at minimum...to celebrate the win. Ya'll pessimistic folks have over a week to complain and "fire" D-Mac until the next game.

You should never ask questions that you're not prepared to hear the answers to. The truth is we may have the worst coaching staff in division 1 football. Look at the recruiting done over the last 12 years. We want to play smashmouth football, but we don't recruit to build up the lines. We want to be a ball control defensive team, but we can't run the ball, and we're going to have a hell of a hard time stopping the likes of Texas, Iowa, etc. Hell I bet UNI puts up 21 + points on us.
So since we can't play the smash mouth style that we want to, we recruit these terrific skill players, but we're not smart enough to let them make plays. Fool em Dan run the QB draw way to go you toilet.
Hopefully JP understands how bad this may be when nobody shows up to watch this 4-8 team, and 135 million dollar dream goes poof. Maybe then, we can improve the direction of the football program.
12 years, and having to rebuild an entire unit, WOW people doesn't that bother anybody??? Think how bad it will be in the next two years when we have to rebuild an entire offensive unit. YET WE STILL BELIEVE THAT MAC WILL GET IT DONE!!! (May I have some kool-aid please, or I will go insane this season)

I really think that Meyer is over-rated. The fact that he doesn't throw the ball to Todd more shows that he either doesn't have a very high football IQ or that he has been told not to force the ball to Todd.

This is the exact opposite message that should be sent by the coaching staff. The message should be: "Throw it to Blythe...even if he's covered."

Umm...yeah...about that...

If Meyer forced the ball to him all the time, he would have multiple INTs and then you would be complaining that all he does is throw to Blythe and that he should spread it around more.

Also, I think you are overrated and don't have a very high FB IQ.

Half of life is ****ing up; the other half is dealing with it.

That's fine. Your opinion of me means nothing as I'm sure Meyer is not concerned that I think he's over-rated.

I don't think we'd have multiple INT's by forcing Blythe the ball IF you throw it high. We went to him several times in a row during the TCU game and he either gained 20 yards, scored or drew an interference call on the defender. We should never stop throwing to him until it's completely taken away.

And Blythe did redshirt.

I cannot believe how negative everyone is. Athletes and coaches are the only people where we can go to their office, watch them perform, and then criticize the crap out of them afterwards. People are complaining that we didn't force the ball to Blythe. Ok, understandable, but it ended up working out for us because the Safety had to honor everyone else giving the space needed to throw the ball with confidence.

As far as the defense goes, for returning only 3-4 starters it wasn't that bad. You know what, we aren't perfect. So, what no one is. We won, rejoice. Winning is winning. I know there are things wrong with both sides of the ball, but Toledo will probably win the MAC this year. They are not a bad team.

So it didn't look pretty, but its a win. You know what, Tiger Woods even struggles, but he grinds out wins. We ground out a win yesterday. Be thankful, geat up for UNLV. We will get better. We did last year when we had a scare against Illinois State. I'm sure Mac will say exactly what he did last year. From now until Saturday we have to be the most improved football team in the country. We did it last year, we will do it this year. Have faith.
