I don't know about you all but I think it's entirely possible that we can win out the rest on the season.
Sat, Oct 27 Missouri at Columbia, Mo.
Sat, Nov 03 Kansas State Ames, Iowa
Sat, Nov 10 Colorado Ames, Iowa
Sat, Nov 17 Kansas at Lawrence, Kan.
Missouri will be tough but I think our defense can handle Chase Daniels
K State is very managable
Colorado will be fun to see since their current head coach is same one embarassed us at the Libertarian Bowl over at that ugly blue turf
Kansas will also be fun to watch just because have lost to them in the past two seasons and two years ago we couldn't beat them there to get that elusive Big XII North title.

Our defense can have us in positions to win ALL of those games, but our offense will play our chances right out the window...we just aren't reliable in the redzone and we turn the ball over too much.
I would love to win out though, but it won't happen.

There is a far, far greater chance we'll lose the rest of our games instead of winning the rest of them, or any of them for that matter.
You're never as bad (Texas 56-3) or as good (Oklahoma 17-7) as you looked in the previous week.
Lets not allow that great game vs. OU to cloud our minds thinking we're a Big 12 caliber football team right now. Could we win some games this year? Sure. Is it likely? Not really.

I think we'll get one more win. Our one win team will get overlooked somewhere down the road. I hope its Colorado at home so I can see both W's this year.

To the Original poster. I like your optimism. However you sound like a Hawk fan sounds before the season starts. You know before they want to fire there offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Want a new QB and so on.

Well I say that we can maybe win the rest of the season because of two things. One I am optimistic and, two because if our only win is against Iowa (which is great with me) then it just adds to what people always say regarding that game is the Super Bowl to us and never show up to play any other game.

They lost to Oklahoma, yes, but they're bound to stub their toe against someone they're not supposed to. It can be us. Not likely, but...it can be.

I understand, yet none of those things help blocking, route running, passing, pass rushing, tackling, covering, kicking, etc.
All things we are struggling with.

I think some of the people here were saying the same thing before this season. I got flamed hard for my prediction of 4 wins. People said I had a loser mentality. Boy I hope we can get to 4 wins, that would be freakin great!

Odds are that we will lose out.
Our success from here out depends on how many points we can score. If we can get to 20-30/game we can win out. If we stay between 7-15, we don't have a prayer.
The D is good enough to keep us in games, our O just can't put it in the endzone for whatever reason.
If I had to bet the house, I'd bet we'd lose out. If you asked me to put 100 bucks on it, I'd say we have one win.

To Knownothing:
I am no Hawk fan, nor do I even think like they do. As far as firing goes I really didn't want McCarney to leave. Granted that maybe because a couple of special memories that I have about him and that he was such a class act. Really the only person that I wanted fired last was Barney Cotton.
Don't get me wrong though I do like our current situation right now and I do believe that the future looks to be very bright (theres my optimisim speaking out again.) But I just kind of wish it was with Mac.
Hawkeyes disgust me though period.

I hit you with some possitive reps for your optimistic post. I hope we win the rest. I won't hold my breath though.

If we get 1 win somewhere out of that I'd be thrilled because we have a much better chance of going 0-4 than we do 4-0.

Winning out will be difficult - Mizzou has a sick offense and i think they will beat us....all i hope for is an effort like our game against OU and if that's the product we see on the field we should be content with whatever the outcome is.....
That said, Kansas St and Colorado are both winable games - all dependent on our O and dare i say it maybe a shaggy fg somewhere along the lines that goes through the posts....
Kansas - tough game, we owe them, i could see our team, our seniors, all wanting to go out with a bang just like we sent out Mac....plus again - this could be for them winning the big 12 how sweet would that be to keep them from doing that...plus, were recruiting a bunch of kids against them, might be a deciding factor....
3-9 don't sound bad - okay it does.....but optimistic abounds with performances like last week.....right now the defense is way ahead of the offense and the special teams are simply not existant....
