Re: Sign the Petition for Lucca!
The petition is now up to 837. However it does include several posts like this...
810. Kelvin Sampson This is BS! Hey Lucca...........text me....
I still believe that this is a good idea. It may not change the NCAA's mind, but it might show support to Lucca (keep him from leaving), and it might show the NCAA that they have to worry about more than just the traditional power houses.

They might not all be legit names but at least that many people took the time to sign their names. Unless there are people signing more than one time.

P.S. Is that most dominate mascot competition still going on?

Re: Sign the Petition for Lucca!
1500 signatures.
I thought perhaps after a weekend of thinking about this ruling, after calming down and thinking it through, the ideas and decisions of the NCAA might become clearer to me.
The exact opposite has happened. Now after the inital shock has worn off, I am still amazed by the amount of hyprocrasy and corruptness that is being shown by the NCAA.
With the facts that have been presented in this case, it proves the credibility of the NCAA and college sports is severely damaged, and more importantely, the lives of innocent players are being used as pawns in the NCAA's greedy quest for money and power.
I hope this issue is thrust into the limelight and not allowed to be forgotten as the days pass. When something as blatenely unfair as this is allowed to happen, what will it take before we finally say enough it enough?
Has anybody gotten a responce to the calls and emails to the NCAA or Media outlets?

Re: Sign the Petition for Lucca!
I don't konw if it will help, but I just sent an email to pmr@ncaa.org which is the PR for the NCAA. I explained how they were hypocritcal and to not penalize Lucca for doing the right thing when others have been penalized less for doing other than right things.
almost 1600 sigs!

Re: Sign the Petition for Lucca!
I just noticed Carlos Boozer signed, if in fact it is not someone signing his name. We also have Mark Mangino, Hugh Balls, and **** McGee, but Boozer seems more probable since his brother is on the team.

Petition update...
1734 sigs as of this writing. Not too impressive since Hilton holds 13,000 or so.
Even my H.S. Algebra teacher signed, though, and he's a huge Hawkeye homer, so that is encouraging!

Re: Sign the Petition for Lucca!
The petition should be more descriptive, so people who don't know what the issue is could sign it. It should it least say what the rule is, the fact that he is being punished because his teammates recieved money, etc. If I didn't know the details of the issue, I would feel uncomfortable signing such a nodescript petition.
