Mangino Explodes Finally

I'm currently attending grad school at KU and word on campus after this outburst was that the kid got it even worse at practice the next week. They were practicing punt return and right before the punt team was about to punt, Mangino pulled the other 10 guys on punt return off the field, and had the punt team go down and rock this kid's ****. Afterwards, he told the kid that next time, instead of thinking about himself and trying to take all the glory, he should realize that there were some people helping him get to the endzone.

That's great, I hate to come across as an ******* but sometimes you gotta do that to get through to kids who think they are the only reason they got in the end zone. One of life's lessons.

I'm sure this kid got the point after all that.

I would have LOVED to have seen that one if caught on tape...

I think what Mangino did was awesome. Did he have to be so profane? Probably not. But I like how he got after him for being a showboater. I hate that crap.

Sometimes profanity is the only way to get through to kids... When I moved from Florida to Iowa I went from playing for a Bobby Knight disciple (literally) to a coach who NEVER sweared... Sometimes it is hard to take a guy seriously when he gets mad at the team for not running the 'gosh darn' plays right... My high school coach in Florida was EXTREMELY hard on us, but still the best coach I have ever had in any sport...

Nothing to a degree. If you overuse a word it loses its impact however.

Would have been hilarious, if he returned the punt to the endzone with no help haha!!! Then tell Mangina to SHOVE it.

Want some entertainment? YouTube Bobby Knight. My favorite clip is him explaining his favorite word. The other is when a kid records an angry halftime speech of his. Personally, I love Bob Knight. He may be old school and a hard ***, but his kids play the game the right way, learn respect, and graduate.
