Best place to find tickets b4 the game?
As stated in pervious threads, I've been to Ames in 1993, 2003 and 2005 to see KSU and ISU play. Before each game I have found tickets in the lot. I would say 2003 was the easiest to find (actually had people trying to GIVE us tix after we had bought 2 for $10).
I honestly don't remember where we got our tix b4 the 2005 game (probably beer related).
Is it pretty much easy all the way around the stadium (we plan on parking in one of the grass lots)? Or is the best place to find tix in the paved lots, or outside the "closed end" of the stadium (where the locker rooms are located)?
Thanks for any advise.

Best by the gates as far as I've seen.

About 1/2 hour before the game, there will be people selling them all around the front of the Jacobson Bldg.
Don't buy a student ticket, I think you need a Student ID to get in with it! A student can confirm, but just be careful.

I would suggest asking around at different ISU tailgates. You would likely find someone willing to just give them to you or at least a hefty discount.
If that does not work, just head to the North side of the stadium about 30 minutes before kick-off. You will find scalpers as well as fans just trying to get whatever they can for their tickets.
As already noted, you do need a student ID to use a student ticket (sometimes the ticket takers will turn their other cheek but sometimes they stick to the policy. Luck of the draw.)
Hope you have a great time and get treated well.

Thanks for all the advise!

just wait till about 5 min before kickoff, you should be able to get them for dirt cheap. I have eaten tickets a few times this year, there are so many people selling that it is hard not to find a good deal.
