I will agree with him that the DM schools are a mess. That is one reason we will not move to DSM proper, we will stay in the 'burbs. And it is cool that he is being responsible for it and not just declaring bankruptcy like most people would do.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775
I'll keep my comments quiet since they're pretty deep but I'm glad we're on our own and not dealing with certain individuals. It's nice he hasn't just given up and gone through bankruptcy but he also hasn't learned how to deal with people and how to do things the right way to get things done productivly.
Case in point - You can't get on the school board with all guns blazing against the people you have to try to convince to reason with you. How can you expect to institute change if you're just trying to play to the cameras instead of actually working behind the scenes to find new ways of getting things done? Obviously the board is inept and corrupt but you can't go out there and try to **** them off at the starting gate when you need to get their votes to institute actual changes.
Anyways - please keep this thread as clean as possible so we don't have to deal with any legal issues.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.
I think this comment from the Register's feedback sums it up pretty well...
While the timing is interesting....."It is what it is" - meaning the financial trouble and lawsuits ******** repeatedly finds himself in.
I love the idea of someone rocking the establishment's boat a little to create change. But, this guy now has a huge credibility gap. He was a breath of fresh air....now it's just the same old "hot air" all politicians blow.
If you talk the talk, walk the walk. Obviously he didn't in his personal life. Now it has crippled him and damaged his credibility in his public life.
If you go through a campaign as a person of moral integrity and speek about inacting change, you can't be somebody that has repeatedly been in the same situations you campaigned against. That's called hypocrisy and it's meaning has now been well defined.
