Beat Colorado, we get our bowl game!

If Iowa State can beat Colorado, we get a bowl game. By then Kansas will probably be top four, and undefeated. What better last game for Iowa State? This would be the equalivant of a bowl game. No pressure on Iowa State, but how many chances do players ever get to play their last game against a Number One or potential Number One team? What an opportunity it would be for our Seniors to go out with an upset win. I'm just hoping we get that opportunity. Chances are it would be on National TV and a wingdinger of a game. Go State!

One step at at time.

But it would help with

1) Making the winter conditioning drills more pleasant
2) Recruiting
3) Selling tickets for next year

Not to mention it we be the 6th straight week in a row with ISU on national TV, when has that happened before?

As a 2-8 team that just got it's first conference win...I'm not looking past anything. I think the fan-pendulum is going to swing too far the other way. Yes, we won. We totally dominated the first half and held on in the second. Great win for us.

But we're still 2-8. A 2-8 team much improved the last few weeks, but we still nearly let that game slip away from us yesterday.

So all I see is CU. A team that was a lot like us last year, got much better and improved this year as well. I think it will be a very competitive game and we have a great shot to win.

As far as Kansas (win or lose this weekend), I just don't see us getting a W in that one. And I'll continue saying that all the way up to the game, cheer loud for us and hope for a win (same strategy I employed against OU).

I'm certainly not counting on a win against CU or anyone. As you point out, we've improved but have a long way to go. Just an observation about what an opportunity IF we beat CU and IF Kansas beats Missouri. A Kansas win at Arrowood would set up the perfect upset senario. Huge win against biggest rival, followed by the last place team in the Big 12.(actually, Nebraska may get sole ownership of the last place spot, but that is in my wildest dreams) So it could happen. I'm rooting for a big win this week. No matter, still sweet to knock off KSU.

Checked schedule, KU plays MO the week after they play us. Oke State this week.

That's what I was thinking. We could be a trap game going into the following week with Missouri. I'm not going to go into that game with any expectations, as Kansas is really good, but they don't have the established tradition that other powerhouse teams have, and they're catching ISU at the worst time.

This is a great idea. A CU win might spur a migration to KU.

How did they get a southern team to play after 11/1? I thought that was forbidden by the Big 12?

The KU-Ok St. game should be a good one to watch at least. Ok St. can score w/ anybody but I doubt they stop KU at all.

The funny part of this whole thing is that at the end of the game, I told Ripvdub that if we were Iowa, we would be talking bowl game now.....

I was in Lawrence a few years back when ISU had a chance at the Big 12 North title and Mac sat on 3 time outs and 2 mins on the clock. There were at least 15-20K Cyclone fans there. It would be awesome to beat CU, then flock down to Lawrence for a little revenge. If we could win the last 3 games on top of playing Mizzou and OU tough, it would be a great way to end the season with that kind of momentum.
