    Twister Sisters get Exhibition win.

    Eight Cyclones score double figures as the Twister Sisters defeated Iowa Wesleyan 101 to 38. The Lady Cyclones hit 13 of 24 threes during a game that saw ISU run out to a 65 point lead at one time.

    Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

    ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

    Looks like our girls played some solid b-ball, will be interesting to see how they perform when they get some real competition.

    Ames, Ia. - A few healthy minutes from Toccara Ross was as encouraging as all the points the Iowa State women's basketball team put up in Sunday's 101-38 exhibition victory against Iowa Wesleyan.

    Ross, the Cyclones' senior power forward who has been battling a small tear in a disk in her back, scored 11 points in 13 minutes. She was optimistic that she'd be ready to go for the Cyclones' Nov. 9 regular-season opener against Pepperdine.

    "It's going to be something I'll have to fight through for awhile," she said. "There's always going to have some sort of discomfort, but as long as I can get it to where it's manageable, I'll be O.K."

    The Cyclones led 50-25 at halftime and blew the game completely open with a 42-2 run in the first 13 minutes 35 seconds of the second half for a 92-27 advantage.................
