Sage gets a W
Pretty fair line-11/19 180 yds, 1 TD and 1 Int

Re: Sage gets a W
Considering what he has to work with there in Houston, pretty decent.

Re: Sage gets a W
Sage has done this before ... having a below average day when he gets the start.
He seems to perform much better coming off the bench, much as I hate to say it.
Hopefully Shaub is out again next week for another try at it.

The TD was a great ball.
Dayne gave him a lot of help, running very hard.

Re: Sage gets a W
I wouldn't say that is below average. He was only given 19 attempts. Houston got an early lead and was running the ball well, so they stuck with it. Sage did a good job.

Well, ok. I watched the majority of the game and he definately didn't make many plays - he was a "game manager" to use an terrible cliche. I was just thinking the Raiders may have been a breakout opportunity for him.

The Raider defense is pretty decent. It's just their offense that's horrid. Score a few points, play a conservative offense and you pretty much got the game against 'em.
That's what Houston did today.
I thought the staff showed great confidence in Sage in tossing that deep pass with a lead late in the game, that ended up being a long TD.

Oakland has one of the top pass defenses in the league.

The Miami Dolphins are 5th for yardage allowed!! They are not a top defense.
Of course my line of reasoning leads me to them being a really easy team to run on which inspires they're opponents to keep in on the ground - which gives the Qbs less opportunities - which totally backs up what you were saying in post #5.
so there - you're right.
