it was obvious who is better at running the team so far.
And it's not even close.
We get it. Bryan Peterson is a solid player. I am one of the people that said that I would be disappointed if Garrett wasn't starting. That isn't a knock on Peterson. The bottom line is as an Iowa State fan, I want the best player to play. If that happens to be Peterson, that is fine. You act like we all wanted Peterson to be bad or something. Someone cue the cookie.
Coach Mac said the best thing about Peterson is that you do not notice him...
He distributes the ball, understands his role, hits the open shot, and does what he is asked to do by his Coach..............(unlike MT last year)
I'm guessing he will run the point til Garrett gets more experience, Garrett has more upside IMO, but we need a exrtension of the Coach on the floor, right now.
I would definitely be pleased with a new incarnation of Jacey Holloway.
i wonder if he will be running the point till next season when dominic buckley the true point guard with alot of potential is here next year and diate can rotate at different positions
I hate to defend copenhagen, but give some credit where it's due. Nobody wanted Peterson to be bad, but very few felt like he could be worth a damn due to his walkon status and the fact that he wasn't offered a scholorship by any name schools. Turns out, BP isn't flashy, but he does seem to be worth a damn.
As herbie said, I'd take Jacey Jr. anyday.
on here at times lol....i know its obvious alot here dont like me to put it mildly:wink:. But it doesnt bother me im always going to speak my mind and react to what i think is bs. I was a big fan n said so of Garrett in summer so im not going after him or any player. Im just going to keep going after all these posters that show contempt n disdain for certain players for dumb reasons like haluska n peterson who neither played one second yet were ridiculed and so was mcdermott for having the gall to possibly play them.
I'm really trying hard to understand what you are saying...
But anyways, what led to your opinion of Petersen? I attended a few Cap. City league games and saw good things from him and Haluska...so no...you're not on this island you claim to be.
Did you see him in the summer or were you just grasping as straws and were "right" for a change?
I didn't see many people ridcule Haluska. People hated his brother but after people saw him in the summer league I didn't hear one nasty thing about him. I'd kinda like to see some posts that mention this attitude. I know some people are scratching there heads about why he isn't on scholly yet, but he will eventually.
Hey did anyone else find it wierd the first game listening to John Walters saying, "Thompson to Haluska for 3, yessss..... He knocks it down." I swore it almost sounded like Dolphin for a second....
In this thread, http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...ter-guard.html, even you said you were surprised that Peterson might be the starter. Seriously, just stop acting like you are the lone Peterson supporter who knew he was going to be the bomb all summer. You also said Thompson was going to surprise a lot of people.
I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong about who I thought would start, but who cares? I talk about it because I enjoy thinking about what basketball could bring for the year, it's my favorite sport, and I find myself thinking about it all year round. We're right on some things and we're wrong on some things, but in the end we all want everybody on the team to succeed. Just let it go.
