Charlie Wiess is HORRIBLE

4th and 8 under a minute to go. In field goal range and the guy goes for it?? What was that. I loved the superman tackle the kid from Navy put on the ND QB. How does Weiss still have a job. Wilingham had the program in way better shape than Charlie does.

For the record I hate Notre Dame and they basically put themselves in a position where they have to fire Weiss or they will probably encounter a racism Lawsuit.

Charlie had them in 2 BCS games. Ty had them in the Insight.com bowl and Gator Bowl. I thought they had no business firing Ty in the first place after only three years, but things happen.

Charlie had them in two BCS games with Bradie Quinn...who was Ty's guy. Weiss undoubtedly helped in his improvement, but it was still Ty's guy. Ty went to those bowl games with the likes of Carlyle Holliday playing QB.

Charlie sure did a good job of planning for life after Bradie Quinn.

Somewhere I saw it reported that Notre Dame ranked dead last in offensive yards of BCS schools. Some offensive genius.

There's no doubt ND should never be 1-8. Charlie did bring in all world QB Jimmy Clausen but he's looked bad whenever he's been in. I don't think McCarney was much of a head coach but I doubt he would ever have ND be any worse than 6-6.

Notre Dame has the top ranked recruiting class per rivals so far. They would be making a huge mistake firing him.

They need to join a conference. They will never go undefeated playing that schedule every year.

The thing that amuses me about the situation isn't Notre Dame losing. I used to hate them but have always liked Wiess - so I didn't mind them winning with him there.

I laugh at the extension and gigantic raise they gave him after being there for 5 minutes - to ward off someone luring him back to the NFL.

Reminds me of a huge contract a head coach from an in-state rival received and has since been struggling to get wins.

Aren't we all giddy about ND being this bad, it is almost as much fun as watching Nebraska. But nothing will ever be as much fun as someone running up the score into the 70s against NU, NOTHING!

Something like a 10-year contract worth a bunch of money. That would be an expensive firing.

If someone would have told me last spring that as of November 5th Iowa State would have more wins than ND, the same amount of conference wins as Nebraska, and a victory over Iowa I would have signed for that in a heart beat.

You lost me at Notre Dame.

On a side note...did anyone hear the joke that they have gone ahead with a coaching change at Notre Dame. The new coach is Charlie Iess...because there are no W's at Notre Dame...this was a lot better earlier in the year before they won 1.

Only one thing would be better in my book. Minnesota or Western Michigan putting up 70 on the chicken hawks. Or at least a win........
