POLL - Who is the best ex- pro coach in college ranks?

As we watch Superbowl coach Bill Callahan sink into the sunset we look on the horizon and see many failures of ex pro coaches who were hired to perform magic. Either through recruiting prowess or big playbooks, they were expected to perform. Let's see what you think who deserve the attaboy nod. You may make multiple choices.

Definitely Carroll. I'd rank Nick Saban #2 and Ferentz #3.

Why is Kirk Ferentz's name mentioned beside Pete Carroll's? I have a hard time taking this poll seriously.

This is obviously Carroll in a landslide. Saban is the only other one with a national championship right? And he's a tool.

You nailed it. It is Dennis Erickson and it is not even close. He has won everywhere, and I mean everywhere he has been (Idaho, twice). If he stayed anywhere longer than 2 seasons people would know that. If he coached in the hotbed that is USC, nobody would even play college football anymore, they would just hand USC the crown and start the hardwood season.

Carroll and it's not even close. As much as I hate USC it is really amazing when you look at what they have done over the last couple of years... and then some.

June Jones needs to be on there ahead of alot of those guys... Al Groh is another pretty good one... I still think of Erickson as a college coach that tried to make it in the NFL, the same could be said of Spurrier, Saban, and Butch Davis.

This is kind of a silly poll...Everyone is going to vote for Pete, there is not really much question here.

    Gotto go with Bill.

I love the way he has done less with more. Didn't Knebraska have one of the top recruiting classes a few years ago??

    Gotta love those STARS!!

How about Butch Davis, not the best but he could beat half of those guys.
