Go go Gophers!!!

Well, this weekend, my second favorite team, the Minnesota Golden Gophers are scheduled to annihilate the EIU schmucks. I've been following the Gophers for minutes, now, and can say with some authority, that they actually have a football team, and they play EIU this Saturday. Having said that, I believe that I am a true Golden Gopher fan, who hopes they whack the schmuckeyes this Saturday.

They have yet to win a conference game, their last and only win was against Miami of Ohio, which by the way was pretty impressive. Gophers are 14.5 pnt underdog. I hope they beat the hawks but I don't see it happening..

Minny has no chance, they are really really really bad. I would love to see it happen, but my brain will just not let itself wrap around that.

They have yet to win a conference game, their last and only win was against Iowa, which by the way was pretty impressive. Cyclones are 14.5 pnt underdog. I hope they beat the Wildcats but I don't see it happening...

The Gophers have completely fallen apart. I don't hold out much hope for an upset. It would be sweet.

I won't be happy until the Gophers put 76 on the chicken hawks like KU put on that other elite program in our vicinity.

Although it would almost be better if they beat the gophers only to get frickin slaughtered by Western Michigan. Every Puke fan would have an awesome bowl on their feeble little unused brain and hopefully already spent their grocery money on the sunny bowl trip only to be totally embaressed by the mighty Western Michiganers. Oh that would be awesome, all the hawk fans would be on suicide watch.

herbie you might have to stop these threads, I've noticed since they started Iowa continues to win and we can't have contributing to that.

Iowa has got their team playing great and the Hawks are really on a roll!!! They are definately going to a bowl, will play great, and will be in great shape for a possible run at the national championship next year!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I would just get that out of the way early.

Basically by Purdue losing today that made it a 2 team battle between Purdue and iowa competing for the Insight.com bowl IMO.
These are the teams that Iowa Shouldn't have any chance of jumping, but you guys know how it works. They are not competing with south schools for south bowls so the bowl reps wack off to hawkeye fans.
OSU - BCS
MICH - CAP1
ILL - OUTBACK
WIS - ALAMO
PENN ST - Insight

Purdue lost today so if they beat Indiana they will finish 4-4 and 8-4 and beat Iowa.
I predict that Iowa goes to the insight over them and purdue goes to to the Motor city bowl.
The other teams will not go to bowls or get at large.

I guess what I am trying to say is that if purdue would have won today and next week that would of pretty much put iowa in Detriot. Now they are going to be in orlando or pheonix.

If only we could have beat UNI, Kent State and Toledo. We could be competing for the Sun bowl or something.
