Seniors' "Remember When" Thread
--Remember in 2004 when Blythe had 100yds receiving in the first half against nebraska. And Meyer threw that long pass to Jon Davis. We beat the huskers 34-27. That was a great day.
--Remember Meyer going crazy in the bowl game vs Miami(OH). He was almost unstoppable for most of that game. He had over 100 yds rushing and passing.
--For the rest of my life, whenever I hear "Texas A&M" I will think about Todd Blythe in 2005.
--Shaggy will always have the Cy-hawk trophy of 2007
--Bowen the leading tackler of 2006
--Meyer to Blythe winning triple OT vs Toledo in 2006
Please add as many as you can think of!!
Jon Banks had some great plays and games.
Barkema has had some big touchdown catches.
Milan Moses
Braaksma and Rubin
All of the seniors have been a big part of Cyclone History.
Re: Seniors' "Remember When" Thread
I could get killed for this, but Shaggy's kick against Iowa will not be the first thing I think of when I hear his name.

I'm with you, SuperCy. Sadly, this year's game-winning FG against Iowa won't be any better than third or fourth on the list of things that I associate with Shaggy.
Re: Seniors' "Remember When" Thread
Thanks for the buzzkill jerk. It must be nice to walk around all day being perfect. This is supposed to be about remembering all of the good things the seniors have done in their time at Iowa State. Now think happy thoughts!!

Um, I hope there is sarcasm in there!
Re: Seniors' "Remember When" Thread
The game against CU in '05 (aka, the "Cyclone" game) when Blythe caught that pass from Meyer, was undercut by the DB, landed on his head and still held onto the ball.

Agreed. Might want to use some smilies to indicate your tone there, chrishull14...

You are not the only one.
And when I think of Barkema, I think of his dropped sure touchdown in the end zone in OT against Missouri in 04.

That was a great catch. I was on the cell phone with my Dad at the time as my sister lives in Stratford were the Tornado hit. It took a while for it to sick in as the extra 40 minutes of tailgating that night caught up with me!
Curvey for a TD
Steve Paris for a TD
Mason Crosby kicked a 70 yard field goal or so it seemed and it landed on top of the Jacobson building!

First off, nice comeback. My 12 year old nephew could have come back with better.
Secondly, if you say Shaggy to any respecable Cyclone fan they won't think of the Iowa game. If they do they either have a long term memory problem or have been living under a rock for the past few years. He will ALWAYS be associated with the missed kicks. When you think of Scott Norwood do you think of all of the clutch kicks he made or the fact that he was an All Pro? No. Everybody remembers him for missing the game winning FG against the Giants in Super Bowl XXV.
That's the way it is. Live with it.
Just be happy I don't ding you.
Nevermind, turn about is fair play.

Of course that's what my family remembers Norwood for - I grew up in a huge NY Giants family
Re: Seniors' "Remember When" Thread
Why is it so hard to just tell some nice stories about the seniors, instead of rehashing the bad things that happened.
-How about Blythe making the catch while his helmet is ripped off vs Texas this year.
-Bowen getting blocked to the ground and then getting to the quarterback anyway to make a play against Iowa this year. Or Bowen's Int vs Iowa last year.

Re: Seniors' "Remember When" Thread
Meyer running for around 150 yards in the Independence Bowl against Miami (OH).
(Side note: Did we play against Big Ben that game? I didn't even want to try and spell his last name)
