Josh Snyder comments about Lucca

Josh Snyder is the associate athletic director for compliance and he is dealing with the Lucca Staiger situation. This was in the ISU Daily today:

"It is hoped the final ruling will come sometime by the end of this week, Snyder said, meaning the Cyclones could know by their season-opener on Friday against Winston-Salem State."

I find that statement very interesting as most thought the appeal process could take months. I'm not sure if this is wishful thinking on Snyder's part or what? I assume he knows far more than any of us. I hope he is right and I hope even more that Lucca's suspension is reduced.

I've heard they expect a very quick decision since the season is just getting underway and because there have been some complaints very high up. Normally the appeals do take quite a while.

I'm curious, Jeremy... "Complaints very high up" where? Among the NCAA's member schools? Among NCAA officials themselves? I mean, I know that pretty much all Iowa State and Washington State fans are up in arms, but who is influential enough to grease the wheels on a process that normally takes months to get rolling? I don't necessarily mean that I need to know names, but in general, what group of people is making enough noise to get this thing moving?

I hope the NCAA gets a clue and does the right thing. I don't want to potentially possibly see Lucca leave the college game because of a bunch of idiots in Indy/IA City.

I think he means Pollard is actually a ninja, snuck into Miles Brands' house, and left him a little surprise to wake up to in the morning.



Edit: I hope he's right and we hear something soon. It has to just mentally wear on Lucca to not know what's going to happen.
