Ranking the Offensive Lines...
We're not in the top 25, but at least we're getting something done, coming in at #35 on CFN's list. Just a reminder that we've got the right guy in at offensive coordinator. Scout.com: Ranking The Offensive Lines -
Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
that is always a good thing to see tho...
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
If you would have told anyone on the board this before the season you probably would have been negrepped and laughed at.

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
That is actually quite impressive. What would we have been last year, 65? And to be ahead of LSU, Michigan (with Long), Miami. The future looks good.

How can anything Notre Dame be in the top 100 this season??
EDIT: After actually reading the first part, I reallize this is just the BCS schools. I'd still make an exception and place Notre Dame at 109 or something. BTW...I'm a Notre Dame fan.

It's only BCS teams... so ND is dead last.

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
From what I can tell, the biggest thing that has changed in the last 3 games is the play of the lines, both Offensive and Defensive. I think that is the best thing I can say about the future of this team and the coaching staff.
I'm genuinely excited about next year for three reasons:
Schedule - no UT or OU, Neb at home
Defense - it's picking up the Chizik attitude
Offensive Line & Backs - A young QB doesn't matter if all he has to do is hand off to a group of experienced backs behind a good, experienced O-Line.

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
Ranking the nebraska OL #15 blows any credibility for the rating system. They can't control the clock and have no short yardage game. Luckey's yardage is skewed by a fluke non-conference game. Low sack number is a direct result of all of the 3 yd pass patterns that they run.

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
Also, with K-state coming in at number 4... I would say our D-line held there own against them!!
-
Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
Some of the rankings are questionable, but I agree 100% with markshir - no one would've expected the level of play we've gotten from our offensive line this year.
The nice thing is, all those guys come back next fall.

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
K-State number 4? This guy obviously didn't watch them play Auburn as they almost got Freeman killed that night.
Our ranking looks fairly accurate. Pretty amazing we've come this far with the offensive line.

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
What was supposed to be our glaring weakness this season has actually been one of our surprising strengths...
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -
Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
I wouldnt have believed it without seeing it. Im excited for next year!

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
McFarland has taken the OL further in one year than Cotton did in 3 or Fine did in 2. He's done an impressive job.

Re: Ranking the Offensive Lines...
The job done with our offensive line this year is flat out amazing. I drink the koolaid, look through rose colored glasses and see the cup as half full. And I wouldn't have thought they would be this good this fast.
