Iowa State vs. Kansas

I was watching the Kansas and Ok. State game last night and they just kept talking about the Kansas game vs. Missouri, and then the Big Twelve championship game. No mention of there game vs. Iowa State. Then I am watching the Sportwriters on ESPN this morning, and the same thing happened. No mention of the Kansas game vs. Iowa State. With all of that, there is no pressure for Iowa State to win this game, and all of the pressure will be on Kansas. What a great time for Iowa State to gain some respect by upsetting the Jayhawks.

Thats what Im saying as well. I hope KU is looking past us as well. I think if we come out strong we have a chance. This is the final game of the season. We have some momentum and we know we can play with the big boys now when we focus. If KU doesnt bring their A game, I think we can punch em in the mouth.

On SportsCenter, they were showing the list of opponents that the Top 5 or 6 in the BCS play next week, and Scott Van Pelt said, "Kansas, hosts Iowa State, they've been struggling".

Clearly, he hasn't been keeping tabs on the Cyclones the last few weeks.

I also remember Van Pelt saying, during a similar "show of opponents" thing before the Oklahoma game say, "Oklahoma travels to Ames to play Iowa State, who lost by like 100 to Texas last week".

That statement was nearly true and completely justified. We were awful-looking at that point.

Unfortunately, most of my friends out here are KU grads... I'm happy for KU, it's nice to see someone from the Big XII North succeeding, but I won't forget the losses the last couple of years that have cost us the outright Big XII North Championship. I would love to be able to "return the favor" and upset them... I just don't know how we're going to stop their offense... Hopefully Chizik will have something up his sleeve.

it's time for some revenge on Kansas for keeping us out of the title game in 2005... meyer said on the radio they were going to use that for more fuel for the fire.. as if them being ranked high wasn't enough. Go get em Clones!

ISU brings its A game and there is no way we can't win this game. And pitty KU if they take us lightly. I predict an ISU win.

Right. We have won our last 2 games but we're still 3-8. If we want attention, we need to beat someone like KU.

Our lack of respect is justifiable being 3-8 but a KU win should get us back the repesct that this program is heading for.

Plus, I'd much rather get respect AFTER that game than before it. For the most part, I don't get my panties in a bunch over what the media says or doesn't say about us.

If we so yearn for respect, we must first earn it. We really haven't done anything this year to earn much media respect.

This will be the best offense we've played yet. It's going to be very tough. But I'd love to see us give them a run for their money. We did it with Missouri and OU, we can do it again.

The only reason I brought up the media not even mentioning Iowa State, is that it makes it sound like they don't even have a game left before they play Missouri. I did not expect them to say that Iowa State would give them a threat, only just that they still had another game before the Missouri game.

If we're going to douse our selves with the gasoline of reality, understand that IF we beat KU next weekend, it will be spun into "KU was overrated, look, they lost to lowly Iowa State" before it becomes a "Gee, wow, golly, ISU must be better than their record" kind of thing.

And, frankly, I don't care. I look forward to OUR 10-0 start, not in being the best 3-8 team in College Football. And the way Chizik has developed this team, I'm thinking 10-0 is going to happen sooner than later.

By the way, does anyone have a match?

i don't know on one hand yes it would be sweet to upset KU but on the other hand its been a while since a north team has been in the BCS and further the National championship game if KU beats us and Mizzou they would be in the national championship game and thatd be sweet. but F it i hope we win it on a game winning 45 yrd field goal so Karma comes and bites them in the rear

I know where you're coming from huntt26, but my wife and I went to KU in 05 because I wanted to be there when we won our first football title of any kind in my lifetime.(even if it's just division title). All I can say is, Kansas did not keep us out of the title game.
