Here was my question to him. Alex (Chicago): Do you think Wesley Johnson is the most underrated player in the Big XII? Doug Gottlieb: (4:52 PM ET ) He might be the most underdiscussed. He's a really good player and had a really good freshman year that no one talked about. He just doesn't have any backcourt to get him the basketball. But because of some of the guys they had to run off, their PG/off guard situation isn't that good. But people really like him.

Yeah, that isn't really all that good to see, but it's not totally inaccurate except for Dodie.

I prefer "recruited over" instead of run off. Regardless, I still like Gottlieb.

Dodie also looks like a runoff from the outside, but again, good reasons for his departure.
McIntosh was runoff, maybe not be McD, but in some fashion. The wanting to play closer to home excuse doesn't cut it.

Were McIntosh and Dunson not wanted back by the staff? I would think they would have wanted them back over Peterson and Haluska.

Cory McIntosh seemed like a good kid and had a good attitude, but he was not a D-1 point guard. Some might say the same thing about Peterson, but I think he has already proved to be more effective than CM. Haluska is at the very least just as good as Dunson. Haluska is going to have some big games this year for us (similar to Dodie's against Mizzou). He is one of those players that may go for 2 one game and 16 the next.

I think so far, Dunson would rate higher than Haluska, in my opinion. That could change, but remember that Dodie was a freshman last year, and would possibly be as improved as Wes, CJ, etc. this year. His ceiling was higher, IMO.

That may be true, but from what I have seen, the edge has to go to Haluska in the here and now. In my opinion, of course.

What are you people basing your thoughts of Peterson and Haluska being better than Dodie or Cmac? I'm not being a jerk, really just curious. Dodie was clutch and hit some big shots against Nebraska, KU, and Mizzou. I fail to see what Haluska has done at this point. I give Peterson credit for bouncing back after his poor showing Friday night, but he still hasn't shown the ability to run the point. I'm not saying Cmac and Dodie were great players(or even good) but they atleast produced at times.

Sorry, but there is no way Dunson is better than Haluska. Haluska shoots the three as well as, and has a VASTLY superior mid-range game that Dunson. My only concern with Haluska was defensively, and so far he has actually shown to be a very disruptive defender. Dunson was a good kid, but Haluska brings way more to the two guard spot.

A big advantage with Dodie is he was a better defender than either Petey or Haluska, at least so far, but Haluska and Petersen seem to move better without the ball in their hands, and I think they both have a better shot.

I think Haluska is a more athletic player. He runs well off screens and is quicker than Dunson. We may have not seen it yet, but I think Haluska is a better shooter than Dunson. At the least, he is just as good of a shooter. I think he poses more of a threat than Dunson did.
