    Re: Wednesday Night-Bradley Game Predictions?

Maybe I'm drinking the kool-aid but last year Jiri didnt emerge til late in the season, and we had all frosh in the backcourt that were of lesser talent. Bulk that with the sub-par shooting from behind the arch this last weekend, and I think we will be fine. Can anyone say brackins inside? Wes was a 170 PF at the block.

Last year's backcourt was Taylor and McIntosh, both juniors. And how does subpar shooting last weekend help us in this game?

I think we will get a wake up call and lose by double digits. This may be what they need to get an idea of what it will be like the rest of the season. Makes me sad to say this, but the realist in me says a loss.

A hard-fought game with ISU losing in the end 60-54.

I really have no clue what to expect. We have to get off to a good start. Starting off cold on the road is a recipe for disaster. We were dominated inside last year (17 pts 10 reb) by a mediocre player in Salley. With Jiri's improvement along with Brackins, we should be able to handle him. Ruffin is a good player and Crouch is one of the best shooters in the country. I have a good feeling about this one (whatever that means) though.

    Re: Wednesday Night-Bradley Game Predictions?

Hallcy is right. Bradley has a really good backcourt. Ruffin and Crouch. Ruffin is a little guy and Crouch is about 6'5". They are the 2 returning leading scorers in the conferance. Crouch nearly led the nation in 3point percentage last year. They also recruited JUCO heavy to fill holes in their frontcourt. They were really poor at rebounding last year.

I am really curious to see who is going to gaurd these guys. Especially Ruffin. Personally, I think we are better suited to put DG on Ruffin because I'm not sure that Peterson can stick with him.

Athlon has these guys predicted 2nd in the Valley and 1 and done in the tourney. I think this will be a really tough game for us. If we can make the game ugly, I like our chances.

Like I said we had sub-par shooting in the tournament last weekend. It only leaves room for improvement in percentage and shot selection. If we would have made a single three in the Lipscomb game or even a few, it would have been a blow out, because it only takes a spark to get those guards feeling it from deep.

Taylor was a JUCO transfer as well. We had no true point guard last year either.

With Wesley, we win 68-64. Without, we lose 62-66.

Well, first of all, I don't think Wesley would be 100% even if he played a lot of minutes. That could hinder him. Also, I agree that he would score more than 6 points, but the player in place of him would step up IMO, so the difference wouldn't be as large as what Wesley could score by himself.

Bradley by 15. This could get ugly quick for ISU with the guards we have.

Gotcha. You're saying that because the weekend shooting was subpar, we're due and can only get better. You must be an optimist, because some may say that kind of shooting may be the norm for this team. I hope not, too.

We really struggled against Winston-Salem State, not Lipscomb, and you're right, if we even made a few, we would have blown them away.
