I thought he should have been our starting two guard when stinson was he cause he could shoot the three. But he couldn't get along with Stinson that why stinson did not start a couple of games. I guess one time stinson tried to choke him.

I have mixed emotions of Tasheed. If memory serves me correct he had a very good freshman year. His sophomore year however was a mixed bag. He turned the ball over and his shooting touch adbandoned him.

The clincher however, was he won the award named after Pete Taylor and smashed the trophey to bits outside. That was the rumor anyway and if so good riddence.

he looks great on espn right now he has five points already in the first five minutes. 2-2 with a three, he is a starter and played 37 minutes in their last game.

At this point I'd be happy if we didn't have an entirely new backcourt every year no matter who it is. Carr has looked good so far tonight.

I do remember Pollard and McDermott trying to get Tasheed to change his mind about transferring but obviously to no avail.

Good for him.

But I'm glad he's gone. He was just frustrating to watch. Poor decisions constantly and I thought him to be a very cheap (fouls, hacks and such) player.

Was this after his freshman or sophomore year? If I recall, wasn't he getting almost no PT at the end of his sophomore season? Him shooting about 10% from the field probably had something to do with it. I was really hoping he'd stay.

Does anyone else remember how Tasheed would chuck up 3's and other types of ugly shots? I do. I really only remember him having one really good game. He didnt have the handle or court vision for point guard, not athletic enough for a SG.

I also heard about the trophy incident. I think a lot of people that were on a Cyclone message board probably did.

I recall that award was a hustle award, generally reserved for walk on type players and I think he took it as a slap in the face....

Hypothetical, do you think Boehiem (sp?) called his old buddy Wayne asking for a scouting report on Tasheed?

The award was for the hustle award, and after the banquet tasheed just tossed it in the parking lot, I assume upset about his lack of PT that season (sophomore year that is).

That game you are remembering was the game at Texas that broke our road losing streak. His play down the stretch was one of the reasons we made the NCAA's. However, he struggled the next season. He was always very hot or very cold. I heard the same things about the trophy incident and I'm fairly certain it is more than just a rumor.
