Wii for Christmas

I'm getting a Wii for Christmas.
From the experience out here, which games are the must have, and which are duds?
I've heard the sports games are great, but thats about it?

sports for sure it has tennis, bowling, boxing and baseball

I have one, and the games I play the most are Guitar Hero III (first time I've owned Guitar Hero...I like it!), Madden '08 and Super Mario Strikers. Resident Evil 4 is pretty good too if you're in to 1st person shooters.

Went over to a buddies house and played and my shoulder is still sore. Its not fun unless you get into it. That or if you kick your buddies ***.

I play wii sports still every night with my kids. I love that game, it is the most addicting game I have played in years. Going to branch out and get some more games here soon, but we just love wii sports.

the wii is great.......... but it markets the games for little kids. wii sports is a lot of fun, but i feel it loses that fun fairly quickly. i own zelda for it and its amazing, but very very hard. and i also heard by 1st quarter of 2008, they are comming out with a game called "bob ross - the joy of painting." if u looking for your first game to buy for it, pick up mario party 8. its alot of fun just as long as you have more than 1 person playing

Resident Evil 4 is a must have. Zelda is a nice game, but you will be throwing away half of your life if you want to beat it (It can easily take up 70+ hours of your time). I just bought Mario Galaxy last night and it seems easy to pick up. I expected more out of the game, but I will admit that it is very entertaining.

Next spring when the star wars game comes out it will be really crazy. Can you imagine a light sabre battle game with the wiimotes?

Anyone tried SSX blur? I LOVED SSX for the ps2, and I was thinking abou getting it for the wii.

The Wii Sports that is bundled in is great, and the add'l pack is pretty good. We love Mario Party 8, and Paper Mario is really interesting (I just watch that, for the most part). I love GH3 on the 360, so I would assume the gameplay is the same on the Wii. Rampage was kind of a cool throwback, but the controls are a little jacked.

I've got Metroid Prime 3 and it is pretty awesome. Great graphics and the controls for a 1st person shooter are really nice since you are using the wiimote like a gun.

Guitar Hero III is a lot of fun and the setlist for this one has a good variety of music. I'm going to be picking up Mario Galaxy in the next couple of days but that has gotten better reviews than any game out there.

Tiger Woods is fantastic. My 12 year old son plays it constantly and it is so much more interactive that xbox & PS.
