    Re: The off guard position

While I agree that Petey looked like he was surprised by the quickness and athleticisim of Bradley at times last year, I think the biggest problem last night was at the 2 Guard.

Haluska played some pretty solid D, but our 2 Guards (Haluska and Boozer) were a combined 0 for 6 from the field last night (and I believe Petey missed all of his outside shots while playing the 2 Guard in the second half). Sadly enough, many of those shots were uncontested. Simply stated, Wes won't miss uncontested three pointers (at least not that many). So, teams won't be able to sag off of the weak side to help on the post entry pass when he is in there. That should put teams in the unenviable position of either giving up threes to Wes (or Rashon*) or not being able to double team / cheat towards our post players.

So, I agree with Bryce that, while last night was disappointing, I am still quite excited about our potential for both this season and next.

*On a side note, bravo to Rashon. He played great defense, and he shot the ball very well.

Rahshon is shooting .650 from the floor this year, and is absolutely getting it done. A lot of those shots yesterday were with somebody right in his face too.

On top of shooting 65% from the floor, has anyone ever seen him do this off the dribble pull up that he has done multiple times already this year, with success???? Its amazing how much he has improved on the offensive side of the ball from last year to this... Its going to help alot to have another offensive weapon outside of Jiri and Wes this year.

Don't forget about the D he had on Crouch last night. I think that was his best defensive performance. You could tell when they shook hands that there was a lot of respect between Crouch and Clark after that battle. Rashon is our MVP so far. I'm very excited to see him back on his game.
