Inflatable mascots
I'd like to know who sold colleges and universities on the idea that inflatable mascots were a good thing. Since when does a slow moving, immobile mascot get the crowd fired up. We went to Drake's home opener tonight and noticed they now have one to compliment Spike. Maybe he can be buddies with Nebraska 's Lil' Red and the Toledo Rocket dude. BTW, nice job to Cy for openly mocking the Toledo Bubble Rocket's lack of movement at the FB game this year.
yea, rah, team. (wobble, wobble, hop) -
Re: Inflatable mascots
These things are apparently big business. There is a small company here in Omaha that makes many of these things and they are doing well enough to be looking to build a bigger facility for making and shipping the things. On the positive side, they are also working on several programs where they use the things to help teach kids fire safety and help hadicapped kids deal with various issues.
Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving. -
Re: Inflatable mascots
We could change our tunnel for next year and get the mascot tunnel... Inflatable Sports Mascot Tunnels | Cogswell Creations
They have a cardinal available, but no tornado bird. -
Re: Inflatable mascots
They can actually be pretty funny... I saw them for the first time at an I-Cubs game this past summer. It's even better when they fall on thier back and can't rollover or get up!!

Re: Inflatable mascots
Well, if their angle is to get laughed at then they've succeeded. I'm still unsure what niche they're trying to fill. Especially when most of these teams already have another mascot. Thank goodness our Cy and Clone experiment didn't evolve into Cy and Blow Up Bird.

Re: Inflatable mascots
Baylor has one. I've seen the guy inside turn around so it looks like the Bear is walking on its head. Clever... -

Re: Inflatable mascots
I'm sure that there might be one member of this board that could tell us where to buy an inflatable mascot/spouse.

Is it just me, or does it look like the mascot is squatting to, ummmm... "relieve" itself of the players running onto the field? If I had to concentrate that much while taking care of my business, I think it'd be time to see a doctor.
