Just a rumor... That would rule and IMHO would be a solution the entire Big 12 could live with.

Looks like 9 wins are very possible next year.

Just a rumor... I believe this rumor.
I was looking at Big Ten and Bg 12 standings and it looks like Bowl groups are going to have some tough choices in order to fill their lineup.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

The cotton bowl would rather have another team since Kansas was just their and that is where people get screwed etc.. I think the last couple Cotton bowls have been in the 50's for temps. Wow, that is very true, I had never thought about that before. Maybe that is why San Antonio is in the mix. But I don't like SA either, it is further south than any big12 team.

Sat, Nov 22 Kansas State * at Manhattan, Kan. TBA To be honest, the only "sure losses" I see on that schedule are KU and Mizzou. It's a big if, but if we play like we did vs OU, MU, K St, and CU, we could potentially win 8 games next year. Like most of you are saying, I would be very happy with 6 wins, but let's break it down, assuming we play as we did at the end of the season:
SDSU: Win
Kent St: Win
Iowa: Potential Win
UNLV: Win
KU: Loss
Baylor: Win
Nebraska: Potential Win, being at home helps
A&M: Potential Win, being at home helps
Ok St: Likely Loss
CU: Potential Win
Mizzou: Loss
K St: Potential Win
That makes 4 Wins, 5 Potential/Likely Wins, 1 Likely Loss, and 2 Losses.
This koolaid is good.

Re: Will someone please post the '08 schedule?
Looking at the schedule I say 6-8 wins. Should wins: UNLV, SDST, Kent St, Baylor. Games in play: Colorado, Iowa, Kansas St., Nebraska, maybe A&m Most likely losses: Kansas, Missouri, Ok St.
Being a realist I say 6 wins next year.

Re: Will someone please post the '08 schedule?
Nine wins is a possibility, and looking at the schedule, not TERRIBLY unreasonable. However, with the large youth movement and Chizik just in year two of his project, I just can't go there - yet. We should run through the non-conference, but we could easily go 2-2 as well, seeing that we had a pretty easy non-conference this year and stumbled through it at a 1-3 record, even with some experience returning (albeit them playing in a new system).
I think this is definitely an ideal 2nd year season - Chizik got his obligatory "teeth-kicking" in his first season, and STILL managed to put the foundation of the future program in place. This is a great second season schedule to really begin building the program.

Just a rumor... Man, if that happens, they might as well just schedule the football game to be played at the home stadium of the South representative, because it would basically be a home game for them. It's really not a fair trade-off either because the bball tourney isn't as important to the teams. You can win the conference outright, get bounced from the tourney, and still be a high seed in the NCAA's. But in football, it all comes down to that one game for millions of dollars.
I think the south teams would jump at this opportunity and it would be a very bad deal for the north teams all around.

Re: Will someone please post the '08 schedule?
I think as fans we're just a bunch of whiners as to where the game's being played. LSU fans don't whine about having to drive to Atlanta, where it's easier for the Tennessees, Georgias, and Floridas to get to. Miami fans (if they can ever get there again ) don't complain about having to drive to Baltimore, where it'd be easier for the Marylands, Virginia Techs, and Clemsons to get to. It really shouldn't matter where the game is going to be played because both schools should get equal allotments to the game. Yes, the South fans may gobble up remaining tickets, but if we're worried as fans about being outnumbered as a fan base because it's just too far south then we should just disqualify ourselves from any bowl consideration as obviously the other school is going to have the crowd advantage
Seriously, as a fanbase, we just need to let the team play the schedule they've been given in the location they're going to play it and quit whining about it.

Seriously, as a fanbase, we just need to let the team play the schedule they've been given in the location they're going to play it and quit whining about it. You're right, we should just accept whatever scraps the mighty Big Texas Conference allows us to have. How many season ticket holders for football will travel 800-1000 miles to watch the Big 12 title game (assuming ISU ever makes it), and then turn around and travel another 1000+ miles to a bowl destination a month later? I'm going to go out on a limb and say not many. And given a choice of the two, a vast majority will more than likely choose the bowl game to attend.
To me it seems like a very clear advantage to UT, A&M, and to a lesser extent OU for the game to be in Dallas every year. The problem is there isn't really a major city that's very centrally located in Big 12 country. I'm guessing there's not much for facilities in Wichita.

We are a loyal fanbase, and that can be good and that can hurt sometimes. But if we are playing in a game of that magnitude, it could be in China and you'd still have plenty of Cyclones showing up.
have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.
So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough? -

But do you really think that 30,000 fans will travel to the title game, then turn around and travel to a bowl game 1 month later? Yeah, our fans are pretty loyal, and obviously we haven't played in a game of that magnitude in a VERY long time, but I just don't see it happening. That's asking a lot for fans to make two 800+ mile trips in 30 days just to watch a couple of football games.
