    Re: OT: White Soxs trade.

Something needed to be done, this past season's squad was unwatchable. Although I would rather have seen them move Contreras, Sox fans knew that one or both (Garland and Contreras) would be dealt in the off-season. In my opinion this move is a win-win for both teams. Just need to wrap up that center fielder now!! I'm also worried that the backend of the rotation is going to be a bit too young with most likely a rookie and a second year starter going 4 - 5.

Yeah I'm not so confident with Danks and Floyd being our 4th and 5th starters. I hope Williams knows what he's doing or he did this trade to get some money to land someone later. Maybe there's an outside chance we get Migual Cabrera . It might be just me but I would rather have Migual Cabrera in left and Fields at third than Crede at third and Fields in left. I have a feeling that Crede's back is gonna be a nagging injury that's gonna effect him the rest of his career..i hope i'm wrong though.

    Re: White Sox Trade

If Kenny Williams could have gotten Cabrera or any other competent shortstop for Contreras, I have no doubt he would have done that instead of Garland. If Cabrera is extended, it's an okay deal. If he's not, I think it's a pretty bad deal.

If you believe Joe Cowley of the Sun-Times, it sounds like Torii Hunter will be a member of the White Sox within a week. That would leave LF in order for the Sox to find a leadoff hitter. If they're able to do that, perhaps by signing Shannon Stewart, the lineup wouldn't look too shabby.

That bullpen, on the other hand...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Crede moved for bullpen help, although I don't know how much of a return he'll bring with his back injury.

It's not just you. I think anyone would take a combination of the best young hitter in baseball and another young guy who has enough power to hit 35-40 HR in a season.
