Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
Did anyone catch Rahshon's quote in today's Rag about Westbrook? Here is is: "He was going to come here," Clark said. "It was a bad choice, because we're going to beat them."
I was very suprised to hear this come from Rahshon. Sounds like there might almost be some blad blood there or something. Below is the rest of the quote from the article: McDermott, seated next to Clark, gave the senior forward a funny look.
"He didn't mean to say that," McDermott said.
Clark shifted to full back-pedal mode.
"What I was basically saying is that we're going to give it everything we've got on the court," said Clark, a bit sheepishly. "We're back at home, and we don't want to lose any games at home. We lost too many last year. It's time for that to change." Clark apparently escaped McDermott's wrath with his revision.
"I stand by Rahshon's second statement," McDermott said. Intersteing....... -
Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
That's funny. I think this is going to be a good game. I see we are only 1.5 pt. favorites at home. If Wes doesn't play, and McKenzie isn't 100%, it should be interesting. IMO, whichever of these guys is more ready to go, their team wins.

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
That is very interesting out of Rahshon. His second statement was definitely much better, but how much can you really trust the whims of 17 and 18 year old kids when they're in on recruiting visits? I wouldn't at all.

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
I remember hearing rumors when McD took over that Rahshon was not happy with Westbrook. I've seen Clark deal out some crushing backhand slaps and would love to see him tee off on Westbrook with one. Go Cyclones!

Go Rashon! Tell it like it is!

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
They played taht clip on COtlar this morning. I thought it was priceless.
It reminded me of when we beat Michigan in the NCAA'a and Grayer went over to Glen Rice and told him he made a mistake!

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
I think his first comment was funny. Rep to Rahshon.

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
It could also be they are friends, and this was Rahshon's way of ribbing him through the media. It's hard to tell what his emotions were behind the quote. I love his sentiment, though...Go Clones!

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
I like it. I hope he is thinking we're going to win and it sucks for him because he'd be on the winning side of he were here.
But I understand that Mac doesn't want his players making guarantees or statements like that.

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
As much as I admire Rahshon's confidence and hope he has a lights-out game against the Gophers, we really don't need to be giving bulletin board material to an incoming opponent with our team in a relatively fragile state.

Guarantee Westbrook drops 20 on us now
Still, gotta love the confidence by Clark! Can't wait for the game!

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
Go 'Clones! I love Clark's attitude! He's been terrific for the program and I'm glad he didn't bail a couple of years ago! Let's hope he backs up his talk with a great game!

Re: Clark Quote about Lawrence Westbrook in Rag
This quote was from the pre-game press conference on Monday. The reporter asked him a question about Westbrook and then Clark went on to talk about how Westrbook is a great player and then he made that comment while laughing. I really don't think he was trying to rip on Westbrook or anything as he sounded very high on Westbrook before making that comment. It was taken out of context by the Register, but that's the way the media works.
