Who is your all-time favorite basketball starting five Clones?
Here is a great starting list to choose from:
Guards: Fred Hoiberg, Hercle Ivy, Dedric Willoughby, Barry Stevens, Sam Mack, Will Blalock, Curtis Stinson, Gary Thompson, Jamaal Tinsley, Zaid Abdul-Aziz, Jake Sullivan, Justin Thigpen, Michael Nurse, & Jeff Hornacek.
Forwards: Kantrall Horton, Jeff Grayer, Marcus Fizer, Rashon Clark, Dean Uthoff, Julius Michlivik, & Lafester Rhodes.
Centers; Kelvin Cato, Loren Meyer, Jared Homan, Victor Alexander, & Bill Cain.
Looking for the experts to weigh in for the best five starters. remember that yoiu want the best team. You may want to explain why you chose your five. Should be interesting.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

G-Barry Stevens
F- Lafester Rhodes
F-Fizer
C-Kato
It was a hard decision for the guards, I really want to put Gary Thompson in there but i never saw him play so i dont thinkits fair for me to put him in. I also wanted Sullivan, TinsleyBlalock, Stinson and all the other more recent guys. Some would argue about Lafester but i love that man for what he did to Iowa.

Re: Who is your all-time favorite basketball starting five Clones?
.... I think this team has the best" Bang-For-The Buck" chemistry ...too bad they all were'nt born 17 years ago.. ;D
Guards... Jeff Hornacek(smart,"scrappydog" that can shoot a free throw) -- Jamaal Tinsley("Bad Too The Bone" PG)
Forwards... Marcus Fizer(my PF... P-stands for "POWER") --- Jeff Grayer (too bad there was'nt a 3-point line)
Center ...at first I thought Kelvin Cato .... then I decided that this is a tough choice here... as I think I would want Victor Alexander's "Bulldozer-Big-Arse" setting up picks and screening out for rebounds for this crew.... Victor Alexander it is... just for the chemistry of the above team... let the rest of them run and gun... I want a Sherman tank with a 50-axe handle wide backside breaking an opponent's hip when he's screening out for a rebound....(which reminds me nothing of this year's big, badboy basketball team >:( )

he was the coolest!!! and the funniest
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

Re: Who is your all-time favorite basketball starting five Clones?
Taking their best seasons and what strengths that each player would bring to the team my lineup...
PG- toss up, same assist avg, close steal avg, reb avg, blaylock better shooter, tinsley avg almost 1 more turnover per game. I think the edge goes to Tinsley only because of the success he had while at ISU. If Blaylock would have returned for next yr I think a case could be made for him.
Tinsley 00-01 14.3ppg, 6.0 apg, 2.5 steals, 3.8 rpg
Blaylock 05-06 15.4ppg, 6.1apg, 2.2 steals, 3.3 rpg
SG Hoiberg - 93-94 year complete player, 20.2pts, 6.7rpg, 3.6 asst,1.7 steals, 45% FG from 3pt
SF Grayer - 87-88 25.3ppg, 9.4rpg enough said
PF Fizer - 99-00 22.8ppg, 7.7rpg ditto
C Cato - 96-97 11.3ppg, 8.4rpg, 4.2 blocks. Don't need scoring from this position and Alexander was too slow. Cato provides the defensive pressence and rebounding to complement the other players on the team.
Weakness might be outside shooting as Hoiberg is the only true threat.

Don't forget that Jamal could easily have scored more if he wanted or needed to. He also blocked quite a few shots for a pg. Also, several of his turnover came from the other guys not being ready for his no look passes. As much as I like Blalock, there is no way i would even consider picking him over Jamal.

Re: Who is your all-time favorite basketball starting five Clones?
I agree with melkor, Tinsley would get the nod over Blalock. Jamall although not as a prolific scorer had better leadership attributes. Does anyone ever remember Jamall calling out his teammates as Will did last year? Of course Jamall also had a coach who wouldn't put up with that.

Sure, luck means a lot in football. Not having a good quarterback is bad luck
