Why is everyone so surprised Iowa got beat by Western Michigan?

We lost to a 0-0 MAC team.

First game of the year. First game as a head coach. First game for pretty much the whole O line. It's still not good, don't get me wrong, but it's slightly different than losing to a 3-8 MAC team at home on Senior day after you know what sort of team you have and they have.

If we played Kent State and Toledo this week and next, I think we would win both games handily.

I was sure they would lose one of their last 2 games, i just didn't know which one, naturally i woulda prolly leaned towards minnesota, but it wasn't. but i still knew they'd lose one, because they are the chokeyes...this is nothing new. Of course I would have like the chance to at least choke this year instead of just playing for pride.

They needed to win so they could could to the Detroit Bowl instead of Ft Worth Bowl. Everyone will know they have a chance to have a losing season now.
