They don't have any new news but there's hope that it will be reduced to 15 games from what I've heard. It's still completely up to the NCAA and fingers are crossed.
As much as 15 games would suck, at least he'd be back in time for (at least the majority of) Big XII play - when we're gonna need him most.
I personally think it has to be 8-15 games but the NCAA could stick to their year ruling. I can say that the coaches and players are very anxious to get this resolved.
We have 15 non-conf games. At Baylor is our 16th game.
I think the most important thing is to get playing this year so he will want to stay
Although 15 is still excessive considering the situation, at least for Lucca the end would be in sight. I think this would pretty much guarantee that Lucca stays with the team versus a year long suspension that could result in the complete loss of Lucca.
I think Lucca will be an effective player for us this year but having Brackins, Diante, and Lucca as our core over the next three year is a great way to build success for the foreseeable future.
Any timetable on this decision? Initially the staff thougth this would be resolved by the season opener. I guess its not that big of a deal if he will miss at least 8 games because I'm guessing he will get credit for time served.
Well I know there was talk of a decision last week until the fire shut down the NCAA for two days. I would guess if we don't hear something today, it'll be next week. I don't think the NCAA wants to drag it out as it'll just grow into a bigger story, especially come confrence time when football isn't a topic. The staff really doesn't know much and we'll all know about as soon as they do.
what was the name of the Washington State player who was in the same boat as Lucca? Where was he initially from and is he in limbo as well?
Fabian Boeke (spelling?)
In the Omaha world herald yesterday there was a story of a nebraska recruit for next year that was on the team as well. They are waiting for the ruling as well
i was just wondering because i read somewhere about a former Was St player found dead in Brazil
