Hickory Park new fries (again)
Has anyone else ate at Hickory in the past week since they've changed their fries up again? I ate there last night before the game and we were all disappointed in the new fries. The waitress said they made the change for the to-go orders because they stay warmer longer... which I think is a stupid reason. Because when you get to-go, you know they won't be warm fries.

I didn't even know that Hickory Park had fries. Mashed Potatoes are the only side for me.

The Old fries were not nearly as good as the really old fries. I think they used to make them right there, they were the ones with the tips that still had peeling on them. But that was probably 10 years ago that it was changed to the current ones.

But since we only go about once every 3 months now, I always get 1/2 chicken or ribs, or a bbq beef sandwich.
Wife always gets fried chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon. I am not sure how she does not weigh 300 lbs.

Re: Hickory Park new fries (again)
I JUST had these today - it's funny that you posted this, because I had the same thought!! They reminded me of Boji Fries (at Okoboji Grill), but not nearly as tasty. That coating on the outside is weird.
The secret to the old fries was to order "well fries" - they cook them a little longer so they're crispier, and weren't icky and soggy. Well fries with these new ones just aren't the same...

The other thought is - if you now EVER get lukewarm fries in your to-go order, they have some major explaining to do.

Re: Hickory Park new fries (again)

The coating on the fries is polyurethane to retain the proper heat shield to allow a five minute trip home. Yummy.

Man that is like 3,000 calories. Holy crap! I thought I was porking out with a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and a breaded chicken sandwich! It must be nice to be a guy and able to burn thousands of calories an hour...
