So if there is a Big 10 slot open, the 7-5 rule does not apply and Iowa would get in. I could be wrong here. If someone else has better info, I'l appreciate it.

I love the fact that every week, ISU unites to cheer on two teams: us and whoever is playing the Hawks!

They have seven spots for Big 10 teams, but there are eight teams with at least 7 wins. Therefore, 6-6 Iowa and Northwestern can't take one of those eight spots. With many of the 6-5 teams winning today to go to 7-5, it is very doubtful that Iowa gets a bowl berth.

That would mean Ohio State and Illinios would not count against that.

If two Big 10 teams get to the BCS, it will exactly fill all of their bowl tie-ins with 7 win or better teams and one at-large BCS team. Because that one Big 10 team in the BCS will displace another 7 win or better team, that will help them fulfill their conference tie-in, and still leave Iowa where they currently are.
No conference can have more than 2 teams in the BCS.

This is FACT. The hawks CANNOT and WILL NOT go to a B10+1 tie-in bowl. No how.... no way!

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

I think the only way they would get in is Ohio state gets in and another conference with not enough tie ins gets a team into the champsionship. Then that would open 2 spots up, but there is a lot of teams winning that needed to lose.
