After scanning the papers in Omaha and Lincoln, I see Kirk Ferentz name as a potential successor to Callahan. So now:
-Michigan
-Nebraska
Sounds like a guy who is either looking or at least listening to me. If he plans to stay at Iowa, he needs to nip this in the bud now. It can only hurt his recruiting.

Iowa will have more money to spend on their assistants then if $3M Man goes.

If Nebraska is smart they'll get an AD in place first. They'll have a harder time getting a quality coach if they don't have a solid AD in place when searching for their man.

Why isn't McCarney's name being mentioned for all of the jobs? | Cyclone Fanatic - The Original Fanatic website. |

I did see threads on HN talking about the possibility of hiring him and Steve Loney, if Ferentz leave. They started talking about how they might finally have a chance at beating us consistently again

It's about time to put a betting line on Ferentz isn't it?
Maybe 3:1 to Nebraska
3:1 to Michigan
1:2 to stay at EIU

There are so many openings that other schools don't want word to get out that they are looking closely at Dan for fear of losing him.

It would be really cool to be playing against Dan on a regular basis... Christ... If he coached Nebraska I might actually root for them from time to time...
Okay... maybe not.
