Re: Les Miles will Be the Michigan coach

It seems unlikely to me that this would happen, especially with KF's last 3 years. That being said, as was said on another thread, there's a TON of smoke around this whole situation as at least FOX Sports Radio is saying he's Michigan's #1 candidate (as Michigan's president is a former Hawkeye and is impressed with Ferentz).

Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it, but there are a lot of people out there that seem to think this is an actual possibility.

If Ferentz knows he is not going to get the job, I think it would be pretty irresponsible of him to not publicly say so.

Barta did say nobody has contacted them asking for permision to speak with Ferentz. Usually they at least contact the A.D. If Michigan put an offer to him without doing that then it's total disrespect to Iowa. Any disrespect toward Iowa and I repect it.

If Miles really is the guy, Michigan is going to have a long wait to get him (6 weeks or so) which is going to really hurt recruiting. Unless Miles bails on his team before the bowl game which I think is unlikely.

Has anyone tracked the planes to confirm this!? There is no reason for guessing when we can track planes to and from, c'mon people. I wanna know who, when, and where.

They don't have to contact Barta if they want to talk to Ferentz's agent do they? That's what I think is going on right now.

There's already posts on the Michigan & Iowa boards regarding a flight from Cedar Rapids to Detroit leaving at 5:30pm...funny stuff.

I, for one, would be horribly upset if KF left Iowa to go to UM. I think that he has done a bang up job running that once proud program into the ground and I would hate to see anyone come in and try to rebuild it. It seems like every move that he makes helps ISU in one way or another, and I would hate to lose that asset over there in IC.

If Miles does not end up at Michigan...he better win 11 or more games every year or the LSU fans will be all over him!
First of all...Les Miles is 32-6 in his 3 years at LSU so far. He won 11 games each of the first 2 years and if he wins Saturday in the SEC Championship game he will have won 11 games this season. And guess what...HE IS ON THE HOT SEAT RIGHT NOW (having won 11 games each year)...the bottom line down here is that most LSU fans believe that they have had a team with National Championship caliber players each of the last 2 years and the team has underperformed.

Secondly, I say to you AGAIN...Ferentz will not be offered the Michigan job...can you see the University President and AD trying to "sell" his hiring to the M Club with the mediocre record he has...NO WAY! Just watch, if Michigan does not make a hire this week, it is Miles' job for the taking. He will be offered after the SEC Championship game.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

There are many people that think the entire Michigan/KF thing is a joke.
I hope this is a joke, but I'm afraid that it isn't.

Just curious but are there any recent examples of head coaches moving to another school in the same conference?
