Les Miles hinted in his presser that Pelini would be leaving LSU after the bowl game. Nebraska is holding a meeting for players tommorrow at 4pm. I think Pelini will be their guy for sure.

I really am not sure why...but I just feel Pelini is one of those guys that is a GREAT assistant but might just be a disaster as a HC. I don't know the guy...but that is the impression I get of him...obviously Tom Osborne doesn't think so...

I hope he's the worst hire ever...then Tom Osborne will be hated. That would be awesome!

Wow, LSU is gonna be pissed, lose your shot at the national championship, and now your #1 and #2 coaches in this short of a timespan.

i think he is a good coach, along with the right assistants he could bring nebraska back to its feet. He is a firey guy alot like Coach Chizik, Last year in our search i was hoping for Pelini or Chizik.

This is kind of off topic, but I am glad we got Chizik last year with all of the head coaching jobs opening up at the end of this season. Plus there will be more with other coaches taking jobs elsewhere.

We all remember making fun of our little brother. And then that day came when you looked at him and thought "Crap, when did he become taller than me?" There comes a time when you just know your time has passed and it's their spotlight now.

NU Football: Pelini, Gill still biggest names in search for new coach
Turner Gill and Bo Pelini continued to be the two names with the strongest connection to the head football coach search at Nebraska Monday afternoon.
Although speculation throughout the coaching grapevine has linked other names to the search, the World-Herald has not confirmed the names of other coaches being interviewed by interim Athletic Director Tom Osborne, who is conducting the search with the help of Parker Executive Search based in Atlanta.
Osborne flew to Atlanta on Sunday night after stopping for two hours in Baton Rouge, La., to meet with Pelini.
A plane registered to NU regent and booster Howard Hawks, through Hawks Transportation LLC, flew to Atlanta this morning, drawing speculation that the five onboard were connected to the coaching search. Hawks, who did not immediately return phone messages, is also chief executive officer of Tenaska Inc., an energy company which owns a generating station in Georgia, according to the Tenaska Web site. The five people who deplaned in Atlanta during a rain storm appeared to be business travelers with no connection to the NU coaching search.
Also, a meeting for Husker players that NU scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m. is a routine post-season gathering that would have taken place regardless of NU's coaching change, a current player told the World-Herald.
