Feeling sorry for himself? He was frustrated by the lack of concentration at times. I think he made excellent half time adjustments, and turned an embarrassing game into a hard fought one. I wasn't aware that a coach showing emotion was feeling sorry for himself....
I'm not saying he did a bad job coaching the game. I don't disagree with that at all and I'm not saying he SHOULDN'T be upset, I'm sure anyone would be. It just seemed like he wasn't trying to keep his players up when they were playing bad. I guess I would prefer emotion in the opposite direction. Rather than show discontent, get fired up and get the players going.

Well, we tried that already.... Alford
In all seriousness, it seemed to work. His players looked over at him, and if he was clinching his forehead, they knew they were playing poorly. They really picked up their game, and I don't think they lost morale at all tonight. For them to actually COME BACK instead of falling flat on their faces was really refreshing.
I like what I see in Lick so far. He seems like a very good guy and I think will turn out to be a good coach. I don't think he will have you in the final four, but I think he can get you back to at least where Tom Davis had you.
Even with all the turnovers, I can see the effort and that is a positive. If I were a Hawk, I'd be optimistic about BBall, but must exercise patience as well. You are going to have a few tough years, but I'd say in year 3 or 4 you will be quite competitive again.
I can't believe you guys actually watched all of this game. I turned it on, saw the two teams were a combined 2 for 20-something from three and decided I had better things to do. Like watch a 0-0 football game, I guess.
