A mixed bag here. Kickoff return yards allowed average is ranked 109th:Angry: While punt return defense is ranked 10th in the country.
Middle of the pack in punting at 57th and 9th in punt returns (Go Baum who by the way is ranked 7th in average yards) Add in the 20 plus yards that he gave up when he put the knee on the ground last night and he would be even higher.
Another thing that is funny is no one likes the new clock rules. Maybe they will change them back next year.
Here was a clock oddity; The Colts-Giants game ending last night was a bummer with 17 seconds left, a real minor penalty lost an automatic ten second decrement, and then they placed the ball in play with clock running - they had one stupid looking play in the the last 17 seconds. That makes for poor entertainment. Hope we do not emulate the pros.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
The good news is that we've figured out the hard part to field goals (the kicker), now we just need to get the holder and snapper in line....it does seem strange to me that we're so good at punts and not so good at kick-offs...is the punter just getting more hangtime than our place kicker?
I think there's a little more resistance when it comes to kickoffs. On punt's our gunners really only have to deal with the one or two guys who're trying to stop them. There's a little more of a wall of blockers on the kickoffs. that being said, we really need to work on our kick coverage. Giving that kind of field positon may fly against the UNLV's and Toledo's of the world, but Big 12 offenses will manhandle us.

"Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood."
