everyyard just got pwned.
everyyard, i don't entirely disagree with what you are saying, but when this thing gets turned around, i don't want to see you back on the bandwagon.
Can we just move to the third year? Losing is getting tiresome. Winning is what it is all about against intrastate rivas on your home court.
This is where the Cubs fan in me tells me to hang on and wait for another year. I know that line of thinking bothers many that want results right now and to be in the Sweet16, but it's just not going to happen.
It's tough, but we have to ride out the storm and pray for a good season sometime within the next 2 years - not counting this one.
I have faith in Coach Mac. I think he is a great coach, and I think he is recruiting pretty darn well.
Before the year began, even when Lucca was going to be in the mix, there were some, myself included, that realized ISU's inexperienced backcourt was going to cause some problems this year.
And in the games that they don't turn the ball over a lot, would they be able to make winning plays more often than not?
Because the guards, especially at point, that starts it all. And point guards take longer to develop than other players, IMO.
The amount of attrition and turnover this program has seen in McDermott's time on campus is unreal, perhaps unprecedented for major college teams that have not been on probation.
That is going to have an effect. And not much of that is due to anything GMac has done.
It's going to take time. This year is another rebuilding year. And without Lucca, that is certainly the case.
Years like this are not always easy to watch, but I think you have to be realistic about them and understand what they are. And wait for the Big 12 to play out, too.
Even then, the guard situation is a problem that will not be remedied this year, even if Lucca gets to come back for a part of the year. It's going to take more time.
This was a two to three year rebuild job, IMO, before we can begin to fairly evaluate Coach GMac.
That's just my take.
I remember the Colorado game, this wasn't the same situation. Had he flipped about a call against us guarding Coleman...that might have given us a spark.
Boy, if this year is worse than last year....not sure if I can take much more of this.
If our guys worry about getting better every day, the future will take care of itself. I believe we have the type of guys that will work very hard to improve their team day in and day out. The best teams in the history of basketball usually have had one thing in common - experience playing together. Our team does not have that yet and until they get it, they're not going to beat many teams that do have it.
Our team isn't good....We need a coach who can light a fire under our boys! Do you think Bill Fennley can take over?
Seems to be the vibe here tonight. Makes me wonder if this a Hawk board.
