Re: Iowa State is NOT GOOD.
I agree to a certain extent. I don't think we win more than 10 games though and finish about 10th in the Big 12. We really aren't that great this year. Something must click on our offense for things to change.

Jesus ******. Calm down people. Step away for a while. Watch the office or something (TBS).

Rome wasn't built in a day. ISU basketball was destroyed in about 5 years.

Re: The "sky is falling" thread
One excuse is already gone because we had Wesley back and he was pretty much the only one that played worth a crap tonight. What would the score have been if he didn't play???
We need Lucca. No one outside of Michael Beasley or Kevin Durant would make enough of a difference at this point.
UNI banked in threes = All the rebounds bounced to Bradley. It may be true but it's ignoring the bigger issues.
ISU lost to Drake in '99-'00. I've heard this excuse after every crappy early season loss and we've yet to go on to win the conference. The vast majority of the time losing to crappy teams means you're not very good.
It's only McDermott's 2nd year. This one I will actually buy somewhat but only because of the ridiculous turnover in players and if it happens again this year we're in some serious trouble.
Mostly I'm just ****** that this once proud program has fallen this far.

Re: Is anybody else concerned about MBB?
I'm not throwing in the towel yet. Most objective people did not predict great success this season. Our defense is solid. My hope is that the offense is still suffering from a lack of talent at guard that will be remedied with time
My biggest concern is our rebounding. I'm not sure how we get out-rebounded so bad while playing man. Some of it probably has to do with a lack of bulk (those that don't think that is important for basketball are fooling themselves). I fear some of it is due to a lack of coaching and discipline as well though.

Re: Is anybody else concerned about MBB?
This is like losing to Kent State when we should have been motivated. No continuity in hustle for the complete game.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Iowa State is NOT GOOD.
Yes, because you flipping out at a game is totally called for. Oh wait, you do this every game. And I guess I missed the part where patience = terrible fan = terrible team.
You say that you don't expect good things at all, but then you go off the handle all the time. Do you care or not?

Rome wasn't built in a day. Finally some sanity and rational thought.
I am amazed at how quickly people turn.
Stop watching if it is so painful. Just don't come crawling back when we're good.

My prediction is that McDermott will not last long as he is not getting the recruits he needs. I know many of you will put hexes on me for saying this but I am not impressed with him. His teams don't rebound well, don't penetrate, don't get the ball to the best players and breakdown on defense. Top excuses some of you will come up with undoubtedly will include: 1) With Lucca we win the big12, 2) McD hasn't had time to get his guys in yet, 3) It is UNI's superbowl, 4) Our guys are injured, 5) UNI is a GREAT team...Fact is the only excuse is we aren't good and likely won't be good. Oh, and Thompson is still terrible. When Iowa beats us next week reality will set in for the rest of you. I understand your frustration, but I don't think ANYONE really expected this team to go to the tourneys this year. The truth is that McDermott's guys really ARE just starting to come in - who recruited some of our new, brightest talent? A lot of Wayne's guys jumped ship. We've had to make do with some juco's who didn't necessarily fit into the structure, and we DO have injured guys.
I don't think "reality" needs to set in - we're not Duke or USC. We're trying to find a system that works, and trying to get everyone to buy in to Mac's beginning of his SECOND YEAR. This is going to take a while.
Like last week - please try and keep the "we suck" threads consolidated. Like with any other thread, we don't need to say the same thing in four different threads.

Might as well shoot threes and get the long rebounds.

You say that you don't expect good things at all, but then you go off the handle all the time. Do you care or not? great logic. I guess I'll just wait 20 years until we care and can beat teams we should beat again.
