The reason it was in Oregon this year is that they are trying to get the west coast more interested in college wrestling. There are a lot of programs on the west coast that are dropping the wrestling team because of Title IX.
I think it is a joke for OU to drop wrestling. They are simply adding baseball because the Beavs have been successful and it irritates them to no end that the Ag school is better than them in ANYTHING. Remind anyone of an institution of lower learning east of Ames??? Phil Knight probably tips what the wrestling program there costs a year to sponsor. I think the previous poster put it best that he can make more money selling baseball gear. Knight is the defacto AD of OU and the school is effectively letting him make business decisions with their athletic programs.
Kish had a hold of Varner's headgear. Varner wasn't appreciative of it, and pushed Kish away. Kish retained a grip on the headgear. Varner continued to be disapproving of said tactic. Kish said something to Varner after the handshake, then offered a smart-*** smirk. Pretty ballsy of Kish to lip off after being beaten twice in a row by Varner.
