I found the website for the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Commitee. I think we should VERY POLITELY let them know why we feel that Lucca should be reinstated.

Division I Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee Duties & Responsibilities

COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES

NUMBER OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS
· Five
GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS
· Committee has the authority under NCAA Bylaw 14.12 to determine all matters pertaining to the policies and procedures for the reinstatement of eligibility for a student-athlete who is ineligible as a result of a violation of NCAA legislation. In addition, committee has authority over various waivers (e.g. extensions of eligibility, seasons of competition waivers, etc.).
NUMBER OF IN-PERSON MEETINGS PER YEAR (include approximate dates and days away from office)
· Committee has two in person meetings every year. Meetings are three days in length. Meetings occur in December and June.
· Committee meets with Division II and Division III reinstatement committee during both December and June meeting.

NUMBER OF CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR (include the usual day of the week and average length of call)
· Approximately 20 calls per year to hear institutions? appeals of staff decisions in a reinstatement case.
· Additionally, three to four other calls as needed per year.
OTHER COMMENTS
· Committee provides oversight and guidance to the reinstatement staff regarding the reinstatement process. Staff makes all initial decisions; committee serves as appellate body for all staff decisions. In addition, committee sets policy and guidelines for reinstatement process and reviews all decisions made by the staff where a different decision was reached as a result of the new philosophy.

Excellent post! I hope ISU/Pollard can make the Lucca decision a top priority so a final decision can be made very soon. Hopefully the correct one as well.

Hopefully these people aren't messed up in the head like the people at the NCAA.

From what was reported on WOI its all accedemic as the NCAA has given their final decision. Lucca is banned for a year but can practice. It's funny how Brand said no decision had been made yet the penalty is the same as was earlier reported. It;s clear to me that this was but another lie by the NCAA. Pollard has appealed again but it doesn't look good.

My guess it will be probably be just about the time the season ends.

This decision whether the outcome good or bad NEEDS to be top priority because it is no fair to Lucca to keep him hanging. He deserves to know once in for all what is going on.

I hope it doesn't, but it could take up to a month.

I would not recommend emailing Jennifer Strawley. She is an NCAA staff member who serves as a liaison to this committee, so she won't be voting on the issue. Also, I've dealt with Jennifer before and she is not responsive at all. There's no way she will lobby for reversing the decision that was made by her own organization.

If you do email the committee members, PLEASE be professional. Instead of saying something like "it's not fair" or "the NCAA is nuts", please present a well articulated rationale for why you feel they should consider reversing the decision. That will get their attention far more than negative hysterics.
