Lawsuit of the Week: Local Man Injured by Falling Beer Sues Store

Local News - Local Man Injured by Falling Beer Sues Store

"His wife is part of the lawsuit. Maria Duncan claims she "has in the past and will in the future suffer the loss of the value of her husband's services, society, companionship and consortium by reason of his injuries."

Love that line. Its awesome when they come up with any which way to sue.

Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

Those people should be sued just for producing Schlitz Malt Liquor.

A quote from the article:

"According to the lawsuit, the incident caused him "to sustain serious and grievous injuries," pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life and other damages."

Dude, one can of beer fell on you. Unless it fell from 100 feet and hit you in the head (or someplace more private), how bad could the injuries be?

On a side note, it appears the wife is suing because she's not getting any. In that case, I'd like to start a class-action lawsuit on behalf of all married guys. Who's with me?

Catch 22.

He probably wouldn't have been able to "provide services" had he drank the 4 pack.

Read the PDF, page 4, item 16. Appently this guy is the plaintiff AND defendant.

I threw the dice when they pierced his side

With a heartwarming story like that, it is hard to understand why people hate laywers so much.

I wonder what actually happened. They don't say how he was injured at all.

That beer can couldn't have done anything that nature hadn't already taken care of.

Maybe it hit him in the groin. That would explain his wife's complaints in the lawsuit.

I thought it was ONE beer that came out and struck him. Maybe I read it wrong.

What they didn't tell you about was the Schlitz "Gat in every Pack" promotion.....

Im guessing it fell out of the container and was up high. I just wasnt aware that they put beer so high on shelves and Ive never seen a Schlitz four pack. Is that glass bottles or cans?
