A lot of rebuilding to do this year.
Yeah, I just got done watching it. I feel kind of bad for Looby. He makes even one of those free throws at the end of regulation and Iowa probably wins.
That Johnson kid looks pretty good. Where did he come from?
Yea... But free throws in that situation from a 50% FT shooter are tough...
The youth and inexperienced really showed tonight more than it has in even their loss to Utah State. Being up by 16, all they had to do was protect the ball and make smart plays, instead they get sloppy and force shots, and the veteran ULM team really took advantage.
Looking at the roster, I find it difficult to imagine any of them, except possibly Looby/Johnson playing significant minutes on even a mid-major team, let alone start. Not to mention the fact that they were recruited to play on an up-tempo team, while that's not Lick's style.
I'd actually be surprised to see 5 more wins this season.
Is Carver always that empty? I didn't start watching until the very end so maybe a lot of the fans left when Iowa was up big but it looked very sparse.
Louisiana Monroe was absolutely on fire from three. I didn't start listening until the last minute and overtime, but wow.......I know the feeling.
Every season, Iowa fans come to the games for either weekend games, or week night games against ranked teams. I believe in the SA era, after his 2nd season, there were maybe 8 sell-outs total.
Lick definitely has his work cut out for him with this program. He's basically starting from scratch. But, with renovations on their way to CHA and a practice facility being built, things look a little brighter. But, right now, there isn't much for fans to come cheer for - and who could blame the casual fan for not wanting to spend $25.00 on a week night to watch their team lose to Louisiana-Monroe? Lick acknowledged that his team will have to earn the respect of the fans, and that's absolutely right.
I know I speak for a lot of fans when I say that when there is a good chance that your team will lose, shelling out $25.00 + gas on a week night is not going to cut it.
I'll try and redeem myself...
There are less people on gameday at CHA than at the Britney Spears School for Outstanding Parents.
