ESPN's top 25 of all time...

Has anybody else been paying attention to this? Even though it is mostly subjective, I do get a kick out of these kinds of lists. I am pretty sure that ESPN will (and should) pick Barry Sanders as #1, but any opinions on who #2 will be? I think ESPN will probably make the error of picking a relatively recent player: Tommie Frazier, Ricky Williams, etc. Does Troy have a chance? He really didn't get much national publicity, but put together one heck of a two year effort.

No he has no chance, he played on a team that didn't make a bowl, he didn't win the Heisman, and he played for Iowa State, he has nothing going for him other than he was a great player.

I have to agree with you on this, as much as I wish it weren't the case. Troy Davis will always be remembered as a legend among Cyclone fans. I remember when he was basically the only thing worth cheering about over D-Mac's first two years as coach. With as bad as the team was as a whole, it always felt like a "win" when Davis had a big game, regardless of how the team did. Unfortunately, though, Davis was a "flash in the pan" on the national level. I doubt many casual football fans outside of Iowa would even remember his name anymore. That's too bad, too, because if he put up those stats for a more visible program, he'd be considered one of the greatest players of all time.

How about John Lujack, he lives in Iowa, give us some love. Or maybe Glenn Davis. Then Barry Sanders should be top, otherwise 2nd.

Barry Sanders, Billy Sims, Red Grange, O J Simpson(that would be painful, but seriously, he has to be one of the top 25 all time college football players); how about Paul Horning? Archie Griffen is a good choice also. Looks like Adrian Peterson should be on that list, if Stoops would have used him enough.

Who knows? The list is a complete joke anyway. If the list make any sense then I would say he has no shot, but since it doesn't, he has as good of shot as anyone.
