To me Iowa looks to be in a world of hurt. Even if he stays the fan base can't be happy with how this looks. And as much as KF is paid I seriously doubt if he is looking for a "bigger" contract. This tells me he isn't perfectly happy at Iowa and Iowa is not perfectly happy for him. Best case scenario is this drags on for a while and he leaves in January after all other good coaches are hired. Worst case, he stays, there is discontent by the Iowa fans, legal troubles likely continue, and we beat them next fall...so either way looks good to me.

I would tend to agree until reading posts on rivals Iowa blog. 90plus percent want KF to stay and love him. How precious. I think this actually enhances his position as convoluted as it seems. I didn't realize how long his contract is guaranteed for. They CAN'T fire him even if they want to in a year or two, it would cost the university too much money. If he stays and loses, it will be a real mess...........

Sounds alot like the Gillespie thing at TAMU last MBB season...the TAMU contract was agreed to before post season play but not signed, only for the coach to later leave...

I just get a laugh out of the whole situation. I don't care too much who coaches Iowa - I think they're still going to struggle going forward with resurgent Illinois, Indiana and Northwestern teams. I just wanted to pass on the snippet of info, regardless of if it turns out to be true or not.

Agree, it's really humerous that KF gets so much mileage after some really below average results. Obviously, he has some name recognition after a few good years, but for crying out loud, don't you think if he was some great coach he would have a better overall record or are they factoring in the idea that Iowa City is just a really pathetic place to recruit and Iowa's history of football success is very average. Of course, their current fan base with Jon Miller as head cheerleader has some unrealistic wet dreams of how good they really are.
