Match order
Don't they still draw to see what weight goes first? The matches I've seen so far this year either haven't done that or they miraculously all started at 125.

Re: Match order
I have noticed that to. Good question.

Re: Match order
Word is that it's starting at 125, which would be a bad thing for us.

I guess I feel if everyone wins that is supposed to win, it is all the same. Or is there more to it. I am still working on understanding wrestling. (I am getting closer)

Re: Match order
Turned out OK at Minnesota. This may be better for us. If Zabriskie needs extra points he can know ahead of time and go for them.

Re: Match order
I just think we're a little overmatched at 125, and for a match that is going to have a lot of opposing fans, I'd like to start strong.

Re: Match order
Rumor mill says Perry will not wrestle, so how about start with Reader, then we can end with Sanderson, that would be good I think.
Step 1: Cut a hole in the box. -
Re: Match order
Agreed, I obviously like how it worked for us against Minnesota. Things started off rough but then we turned the momentum in our favor. It doesn't seem like it should affect our performance. You could also argue that going down in the first match gets the intensity going for the following matches to fight to comeback.

Re: Match order
I thought there were two options and the coaches had to agree....
1. The teams draw to which weight goes first
2. They start at 125 lbs.
If the coaches can't decide, they automatically go with #2.

Re: Match order
Found it... http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/20...ling_rules.pdf 3.3 Determining Wrestling Order Immediately after the weigh-in for a dual meet or multiple dual meets conducted
on the same day, coaches may mutually agree to determine the order of matches
to be wrestled, allowing for a particular weight class to be featured. Once the first
weight class is established, subsequent matches will continue in the traditional
sequence of increasing weight class.
If coaches cannot agree on the wrestling order, a random draw shall be conducted
to determine which weight class will be wrestled first. Note: For example, if the 165-pound weight class is selected by mutual consent
or random draw, the sequence of weight classes would be 165, 174, 184, 197,
Heavyweight and then 125 through 157. (See Rule 1.4.) When multiple dual meets are wrestled on the same day at different sites, the
order of matches to be wrestled at the second site will be decided by mutual
agreement or a random draw conducted by the coaches, not more than one hour
before the first match. -
