How good could we be with Taggart and Degand?

How good do you guys think we would be with Shawn Taggart and Farnold Degand? Taggart is averaging 22 min 8 points and 6 rebs for the #2 team in the nation. Degand is the starting PG for NC State and is ave. 8 pts, 3 boards and 3 ast. I think if we still had these two we would be at worst 5-1. But that is my opinion, what is everyone else's?

Re: How good could we be with Taggart and Degand?

It is always interesting to read the woulda, coulda, shoulda threads... I don't really care how good we'd be. Can we please focus on the team we have and guys we are recruiting for the future?!?

Taggart and Degand are gone! I wish them the best. Can we move on?

Re: How good could we be with Taggart and Degand?

I really don't care because they obviously did not want to be at ISU. I want players that want to be here and want to play our system. I think Brackins is going to be a much better player than him anyways.

Some of that is due to coaching and motivating these guys. When Taggard was at ISU he looked like he didnt want to be on the court and showed no hustle. Morgan could get the talent he just had a problem with making the talnent better and getting them up for games.

Re: How good could we be with Taggart and Degand?

I have several friends from work that are NC State alumni and they aren't happy at all with their acquisition of Degand. They sound about as high on him as we sounded on Corey McIntosh last year, for what it's worth. Like most people on here, I'm not losing any sleep over losing either of these two guys.

We would definately be NCAA Champs at year end, no doubt about it, I'm sure they would both be 1st Team All-Americans too.

LET IT GO, THEY AREN'T HERE, THEY DIDN'T WANT TO BE HERE, ENOUGH SAID...I'M OUT!!!!!!

We all remember making fun of our little brother. And then that day came when you looked at him and thought "Crap, when did he become taller than me?" There comes a time when you just know your time has passed and it's their spotlight now.

Wow, I didn't expect this reaction at all guys. Of course I have moved on to this year and actually I moved on LAST year without them. This was a simple question to hear what people thought because I was bored and these two are having good starts to their seasons. It's a little unfortunate that you guys that have to be so negative. Why do you all have to be so bitter that people left the program; it happens to everyone. Just think how good Kansas could be with J.R. Giddens and C.J. Giles. Two guys that would contribute largely to their that school just like Degand and Taggart. Of course it's not going to happen but this is what message boards were created for...QUESTIONS!!!

This topic has been discussed before (and recently) therefore people get annoyed by seeing duplicate threads on the same thing. However, they need to learn to just ignore them instead of posting in them sounding like a bunch of spoiled Hawk fans who aren't going to a bowl game. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

jesus, give the guy a break. this is a message board. who said woulda/coulda/shoulda posts aren't allowed? as is stated everytime someone posts their displeasure with a thread topic, if you don't care about it, DON'T READ IT! (pretty simple stuff there, folks)

That being said, how great would we be if we had those two AND Theo Davis?!

I really don't get the question either. If those guys don't leave the composition of our team is totally different. Brackins may never have come, etc... Sorry, Brackins is better than Taggart so the thought actually chills me. We may have a better record...today. Basically, we'd be an NIT team. Yippee!

Re: How good could we be with Taggart and Degand?

Honestly I think it's a good question, but the real question is, are they still being coached by Wayne? Because then, probably the same record.

But to the question, I watched the Memphis game last night and Taggart is pretty much a set shooter that relies on the guards to penetrate and pass the ball to him on the wing. He is pretty much exactly the same guy that he was at ISU except how he's a bit older and a bit stronger. I really wasn't impressed with Tags yesterday and it's not like USC has dominating bigs either.

As far as Degand goes, if he's averaging 8, 3, and 3, that's almost exactly what Garrett is giving us this year as well. Garrett is scoring 7.3, 2.0, and 1.3 while playing 10 minutes less a game.

It is interesting to think of what could have been with Carr, Degand, and Taggart, but but flat out didn't want to be Cyclones anymore.
