One of Iowa's top receivers, Calvin Davis, is out for the season with a torn achilles. This is from WHO-TV.

Beat me to it Stumpy...
Does anyone think this will impact the game or will it just give the Squawks another feeble excuse if the 'Clones win Saturday?

They're WRs are not impressive. Replace a crappy WR with a crappy WR.
I don't think this will have a big impact.

We may not think much of EIU's receiving corp, but losing a starter is still a blow. Any idea who Tate will over throw to in his place?

I think Davis could have made an impact. He was impressive his freshman year and has battled injury since. He wasn't passed to much in the first two games this season but he certainly had potential.
WHO reported that Iowa will start freshman Dominique Douglas in place of Davis. Douglas has had better stats than Davis through the first two games but it's hard to judge the comparative impact since Davis hasn't had much action in years.

Actually Davis was a senior, and this most likely ends his injury plagued career...I wish the best for the guy in his life outside of football. It would suck to be hurt every year like that. My heart goes out to the kid.

I always wondered why we couldn't put a spy on the TE and follow him EVERYWHERE!

you would think after Toledo, Iowa would be licking their chops to get Chandler the ball...

What have Calvin's stats been so far this season? 2 catches for 23 yards.
While he's a starting WR...I don't think this is a huge injury.

With a Heisman Trophy candidate like Tate I don't think losing Davis should effect the Hawkeyes at all.
