Re: Women's game

50-35 with 3:19 left. Still only 2 3s. Only 4 turnovers for the Twister Sisters. Amazing! They could beat the men.

Ezell is really playing tough. I think she is so fired up that it wouldn't take much for her to pop somebody -- somebody in black naturally.

I would have liked the credits, but I'll take a win by the Sisters over it. Job well done girls.

The number 44 is not very luvky.

Great win tonight. They will be sore tomorrow. Any news on how Stuckey is after that big fall?

Come on State!
Probably about 8,000 there I figure...pretty good crowd that was really into the game. Even when we're up 10 or 15 points, and we let iowa score a couple times in a row or the fans know we're not playing like we should, everybody's up, loud, clapping for the team. Really nice to see! A couple things I took from the game:

Overall - we couldn't make a bunny layup if our lives depended on it in the first 10 minutes. score shoulda been 20-2 8 minutes in. We fed the ball inside really well though, especially since the three wasn't falling. We are really undersized compared to their starting line-up....and it didn't matter. As for personal games:

Stuckey - quite easily our player with the best box-out!!! haha. Likes to crash the boards - it's nice starting her, even though she's small. Real scrappy. Came down hard on her hip for those of you who didn't see the game. Gonna be a sore bone bruise for a week it looked like.

Tocarra - wow. with how her back's been hurting her, it was really nice to see her have a break out game tonight. 15 pts and 10 rebounds. good all around game

Amanda Nisleit - continues to just do her job consistently! Not flashy - not a scorer - not a defensive specialist. BUT, she's just where she needs to be when she needs to be! Very good fundamentals in the movement and screens well, especially for nicky. hope she'll get the shooting touch as she becomes more confident

Jocelyn Anderson - really stepped up tonight, and played well for the 15 minutes she was in. a couple really good blocks, outstanding on the rebounds. Selective in her shots, but kicks the ball outside when she's in trouble.

I think what i take most from the game is that, even though it was against a bad iowa team, it was nice to see that we don't have to live and die by the three - like we have in years past (although, mostly living). ;-)

aaaaaand, i'm not a big fan of bill's bow tie....but if it helps us keep playing good defense, i'm ALL for it! GO CYCLONES!

It was nice to see a team that could rebound in Hilton. Great job ladies. This was the first game I've made it to this year and I doubt it will be my last. I have a lot of confidence in this team, never once did I think Iowa even had a shot in the game.

I agree completely - as far as quality minutes go - hers were tops. She kept Sasquatch... errr Skooby out her element while our other bigs grabbed a breather.

We didn't play a slouch last night - they were good - but the Clones were better. Had some of those close-in baskets gone in early - it would have been a silly score.

Crowd was great - maybe 9k - much more than Montana State, obviously, and the parking lot was packed so most (but not all) the seats were filled. The crowd was loud, the band was loud & well-timed. The Cyclones were plagued by bad shooting (or maybe just bad luck?) and still pounded the bigger Hawks.

Typical Bill Fen team - the ladies out-hustle the competition. They dive for balls the other team give up on. They sink the free throws they need to, and feed on the energy that the crowd gives them.

Go State.
